The Shinzen Training Camp had arrived. I was standing with Kuroo as we greeted the Karasuno team.
"Hey, hey!" Hinata asked Kenma, "Where's the Skytree?"
"Huh? The Skytree?" Kenma mumbled.
Hinata pointed to the transmission tower, "Oh! Is that the Tokyo Tower?"
"Huh?" Kenma replied confused, "That's just a transmission tower."
"What the hell?" Kuroo asked Dachi, "Are there no transmission towers in Miyagi? Pretty sure I've heard that conversation before."
"To us country folk, all steel towers in Tokyo look like the Tokyo Tower," Dachi defended.
"That's a bit unreasonable," Sugawara said, "Also we're in Saitmama."
"We're going to be playing in a different high school than last time," Hinata brought up.
"Apparently, all the summer training camps are held in Shinzen," kenma informed the first year, "It's nice and cool here. Though, there are tons of bugs."
I glanced up at the entrance on top of the hill with dread, "So... Many... Stairs..."
"You're good for it," Kuroo teased.
I frowned, "But aren't boyfriends supposed to be supportive and carry their girlfriends up the stairs like princes."
"Tough luck, princess," Kuroo said with a grin, "Maybe when we're alone."
I entered the gymnasium ahead of the other teams and Bokutō came over to me, "Ayame!"
I let our a muffle sound as the hyperactive captain crushed me in a tight hug.
"Can't... Breathe..." I let out and he released me.
"What happened to your face?"
From the fight, I had gotten a black eye, multiple bruises and a few scapes. Everything was clearing up except for the black eye that was still fading.
"I got into a fight," I said and Bokutō's jaw dropped.
"Did you kick Kuroo's ass?"
I shook my head, "It wasn't with Kuroo. Just some girls at school. It's all behind me and I served my sentence. Though from one friend to another, want to not be as good? I don't want to do all those penalties this time around."
"You're not playing?"
I shook my head, "Nope, I guess you can call me their unofficial team manager. I'll be practice after hours with Kuroo probably."
"Sorry," Bokutō said, "I can't go easy even if it is you. Anyways, our game against Karasuno is about to start and we want no penalties this time around. I hope you'll cheer us on!"
"Trying to get out of it?" Kuroo asked me with a sly grin.
"What? No, of course not," I stammered.
He laughed at my reaction and then turned serious, "That was probably the first time you referred yourself as our team manager."
"Unofficially," I added.
Karasuno was trying out many new tricks and were unsuccessful at each one. The other teams were also watching them play.
"Did Karasuno..." One of the HSinzen players wondered, "Just try to do a synchronized attack?"
I widened my eyes seeing Noya go in for a libero toss. Where did he learn to do that? He landed on the ground and missed the ball after jumping too far.
"Hey," Bokutō had his hands on his hips, "What's up with you guys today? Are you alright?"
"Damn it!" Noya muttered.
