Kenma had informed us Karasuno had made it to Nationals and now it was our turn to deliver. We were waiting for the girls' final game to end. Kuroo faced us, "If we win this round and advance to the finals, we'll be going to Nationals. Let's do what we usually do."
"Right!"
"Your usual..." A new voice interjects itself into our conversation, "High level of defense and teamwork. But you kitties lack decisiveness."
We were faced with players from Nohebi Academy. Among them was captain, Suguru Daishō, a boy who always seemed to get under Kuroo's skin.
"What was that?!" Yamamoto took the bait.
"Don't, Yamamoto," Kuroo and I both said the ace.
"Don't let that snake bastard get to you," Kuroo told the second year.
The Nohebi player pointed a finger at Kuroo, "You always have that hair. Are you sure you're not lying about your height? Are you actually 180cm tall?"
That was all it took to set Kuroo off, "What was that?! I'd never do something so petty. I always make sure I squish that thing into my head when I measure my height!"
I sighed at the boys' behaviour. Was boys volleyball always this dramatic?
I saw Suguru glance over at me with the team bag. Last year, I had seen Suguru at games Nekoma played, but I didn't know him as well as Kuroo has.
He gave a sneer, "I see you finally let your little fangirl join in on the fun. I think I recall her being unable to get her team to the semi-finals."
"Oh no," The Nekoma boys said as I was completely taken over rage.
It was at this point where Yua would tell me to knock it off, but she wasn't there to stop me. Just before I could punch that arrogant grin off the captain's face, Kuroo had to hold me back.
Kuroo calmed down and looked at the player, "By the way, did you ever get over Mika-chan dumping you?"
"What?!" The Nohebi player was now on tthe receiving end of the taunts, "Wait, what?! I wasn't dumped! I'm the one who dumped her!"
"You sure you're gonna be able to play this match? You must be pretty hurt."
"How do you know about that, anyway?"
"Our usual isn't what it used to be," Lev appeared behind.
"Lev," Yaku stopped him, "Your dumps are too long."
"Huh? How do you know how long they are, Yaku-san?!"
Kuroo and Suguru pointed fingers at each other, "See you in the finals."
I still cast my glare upon Suguru, "If you really want to fight, instead of petty and childish remarks, we'll see you out on the court."
Suguru was glaring daggers into the back of my head, but I knew I had won the conversation, "Come on boys."
We were on the court and I stood beside Kuroo while he and Kenma were talking.
"Kuroo, are you nervous?"
"Huh? Of course I am," Kuroo admitted, "Look who we're up against."
Bokutō made his big and dramatic entrance. He took off his jacket and threw it into the air. Akaashi caught it behind him. If we weren't facing him, I would've laughed at his antics.
"You guys got this," I told Kuroo and Kenma.
They watched me and I looked to Kenma, "It'll just be like another level to get stronger."
