"Ayame!" Bokutō ran up to me with another kabob in hand, "How could you betray me!"
"I didn't betray you," I said and handed him my other kabob, "Here, you can thank Kuroo."
"Wait a minute-" Kuroo starts, but was too late as Bokuto ate the meat and swallowed in a few bites.
"I knew Ayame didn't think Kuroo was the best," Bokutō grinned, "Nothing beats the ace. Hey, hey, hey!"
He sauntered off and I glanced at Kuroo, "That's karma."
I kissed him on the lips, "If it makes you feel better, you're the best boyfriend ever. I don't need to shout it for you to know how much I love you."
The words came out of my mouth before I could stop them. I just said I love you to Tetsurō Kuroo, I panicked, Was it too soon?
Kuroo himself was thrown off by my words. A smile danced across his lips as he pulled me closer to him.
We had managed to find ourselves in a quieter area of the picnic area away from everyone else. Our plates were on a lone table and his hand cupped my cheek.
"I love you too," Kuroo told me and my eyes widened,
My heart fluttered in my chest as he leaned in for a passionate kiss. My hands went to his chest to deepen the kiss. We eventually pulled away and Kuroo smiled at me, "Come on, let's go back with the others. It is the last day before we head back, after all."
I nodded my head and we returned. No one seemed to notice our absence which was good.
"You're in the nation's top five?" Hinata exclaimed to Bokutō, "That's awesome!"
"Right? Right?" Bokutō laughed.
"But Ushiwaka from your region is in the top three," Kuroo rained down on Bokutō's parade.
He and I got more food on our plates and joined in the conversation.
"Top three!" Hinata turned to Kuroo.
"Hey!" Bokutō gritted his teeth as his thunder was stolen from him, "You totally upstage me when you say things like that!"
"Three means there's two more?" Lev asked with him mouth full of food.
"Ushiwaka from the Tohoku region, Kiryu from the Kyushu region, and Sakusa from the Kanto region. Those are the three strongest aces at the national high school level this year."
Lev squealed at the thought of the top 3.
"One of those three is in Miyagi of all places," Tsukishima acknowledged.
"Hey, Tsukki!" Bokutō, "You practiced a ton against my spikes! I won't allow you to be intimidated by Usiwaka!"
"Could you please not call me 'Tsukki'?" The blonde requested.
"Besides," Kuroo drove the conversation, "'Top three aces doesn't necessarily mean they're on the top three teams, you know?"
"Yeah, yeah," Bokutō nodded his head.
"Though Itachiyama where Sakusa plays is the top pick to win Nationals," Kuroo added.
"Then..." Hinata and Lev appeared in front of the both of us, "If we beat them, we'll be number one?"
"You talk big, for being the top two at sucking," Kuroo made fun of them.
"Kuroo..." I shook my head at the King of Provocation.
"Kenma said that my serves and receives were better!" Hinata said to Lev.
"D'oh?!" Lev reacted.
The two first years ran off to Kenma and I was left with the two captains. I shook my head and smiled, "With those two around, I don't think volleyball could ever have a dull moment."
