A/N: the picture is basically what a certain character is wearing. By the way, I will probably be updating every weekend. How many chapters? As many as I can write. Let me know if you are enjoying the book so far, and if you are ok with the updating schedule. (I might update a little in the week, it really depends on school.)

???POV

She looked back to where the riders were hovering above the water. She had heard one of them scream something which was the only indicator she got that they were there.

She had no clue who these dragon riders were, the only thing she knew was that one had a Night Fury, and that worried her.

"A little faster bud," she told her dragon which zoomed away as quickly as possible, leaving the riders behind.

When the riders were no were to be seen she let out a sigh. That had been a little too close for comfort. She knew that they knew she existed and she knew that they knew that she had a white Night Fury.

Night Furies were thought to be extinct, but there were many more than the world knew about. She had seen a few, rescued a lot too. They had evolved to be almost invisible to humans. And some had evolved to be completely invisible, literally, but not all Furies could do that.

She had witnessed firsthand what happened to most Furies that were unfortunate enough to not be able to turn invisible. It was not pretty.

Her dragon made a purring sound and she looked up. They had made it back to their temporary home. A small island with big mountains. It was very beautiful and well-hidden.

She flew around the island until she found what she was looking for: a small forest. She landed on the outskirts of it and jumped off her dragon with minor difficulty considering her metal leg. She limped her way into the forest with her companion trailing closely behind.

She stepped over several strings and jumped over fallen trees. After about 20 minutes she made her way into a campsite. The campsite was open, but trees covered it completely for any bypassing riders. In the middle was a small campfire with a log right behind it.

Before she could take a step in, an ax was placed on her throat.

"Password," a voice said.

"I love you," she said. She could imagine her companion blush at her words.

"That is not the password," the voice said.

"No, but I still love you, and I don't think anyone would say it to you unless they knew it was you," she retorted.

"We need a new password," her companion said as she came out from the trees after lowering her ax.

"I don't think that is necessary, Heather," she said as she placed both her hands on Heather's hips.

"I do think it is necessary Frida," Heather said with a smirk as she tipped Frida's mask to the top of her head.

Frida smiled and placed a soft kiss on Heather's lips which the girl happily returned. Heather was just a few inches shorter than Frida, but Frida loved to tease her about it.

"So did you and Shadow find anything?" Heather asked as she pulled away from her.

"Only two riders that were following me," Frida said. She slung her arm around Heather's shoulders and limped over to the log that was placed close to the fire. Shadow trotted behind and laid in a little batch of sun while stretching himself like a cat.

"Do they seem like a threat?" Heather asked.

Frida shook her head. "No, the girl maybe, she seemed pretty strong. The guy looked way too scrawny to even lift a sword, he has a Night Fury though," she said as Heather carefully helped her sit down with her lower back against the log.
