~If he ever hurts you, true love won't desert you. You know I still love you even though we touched and went our separate ways.~

Eclipse POV
...............

Once little sister was relaxed and sleeping, I walked toward my masters room.

I wanted to talk to him about my little sister. After all, he was my master. Even if I wanted to protect her from him.

"Master?" I peeked into his study. He cut an imposing figure sitting behind his desk and scowling. He didn't seem to see me, but that was probably for the best.

He was talking on the phone and leaning back. His jaws clenching in anger.

I closed the door and listened to what he was saying. I didn't mean to eavesdrop. But at the same time, I did.

"No! She is finally back here."

He let out a low snarl and leaned forward. The glass of amber liquid clutched tightly in his hand.

"Yes, I am well aware that you are paying me to keep her here."

"..."

I listened for some more time.

She had been here before!? And who was on the other end?

He heaved a long and loud sigh and slammed down the phone.

"Master...?" I timidly walked into the room. Unsure of if I was going to get in trouble for it.

"What is it kitten?"

"Ah, about the girl."

I did as I always did and snuggled into his lap. A safe and warm place for me to curl up sometimes. He wasn't mine, but this was the closest thing I would come to having a partner or my father.

I never had a father growing up, and he saved me. Saved me from them.

"Go on." Master patted my head. "Tell me what you want."

"Why can't you just let her go?"

He tensed. His grip on me tightened as he downed the drink in his other hand.

"You heard me talking on the phone right?"

"Yes." I would not lie to master. I leaned against him and listened to his breathing. "But I didn't understand."

"Then I will explain it to you..."

Hopea POV
...............

"...I have something to tell you." He picked up the bowl of yogurt and put it on the bedside.

His whole body drooping. Even his tail, curled around his thin body, was twitching erratically.

Was it something important? And if so, what was it?

The throbbing pain in my arm dulled to a light thrum and I could move it. I found myself wanting to comfort him as my hand, shaking nervously, landed between his ears.

"It's actually very important." He gave me the cutest look. Like he wanted to curl up to me, but was unsure if he should.

"Oh what is it?" I tilted my head in curiosity.

He glanced around the room before answering my question.

"I overheard master before he went to see you. He was talking to some other fairy on the phone. It was a heated conversation, but..."
