The next morning I woke up to the smell of waffles and bacon. I opened my eyes to see Josh walking into his room with two plates.

"Good morning my rose," Josh greeted me.

"Morning," I greeted him as he pecked my lips. "Why didn't you wake me up? I would have made breakfast."

"You seemed like you had an eventful night last night, I want to treat you by making you breakfast," Josh answered as he handed me a plate. "Is that wrong?" He left the room and came back with water.

"Did you make it or did your maids do it and you're taking credit?" I asked. He chuckled.

"Fine you caught me, they made it. Can we just enjoy it please and pretend that I made it and you love it?" He asked. I giggled as he pleaded.

"Fine, I love the breakfast you made," I said then kissed him which he returned.

"Thank you very much," He said.

A night later, I was on my way to the bathroom when I passed by Archie's room. The door was wide open, I saw him giving multiple hits to his punching bag.

"Hey Rocky," Dad said from behind me.

"Hey," Archie greeted us as we walked into the room.

"You know, I never thought I'd say that I miss you playing guitar, but..." Dad trailed.

"Ah, sorry dad," Archie apologized as he swung more. "Just trying to get back in fighting shape for the field."

"This is all for the Bulldogs?" I asked.

"Coach Clayton's about to set the starting line up, name a new captain," Archie explained. "It's like dad said. Football gets me a scholarship, which gets me to college, where I can study music. Captains get scholarships." Dad put his hand on me and gently let me out of the room and closed Archie's door.

"Will you look out for him at school?" Dad asked.

"Of course," I promised.

At school, Josie and her Pussycats walked up to me.

"Hey," Josie greeted.

"Hey," I greeted back.

"I don't know if Archie told you this," Valerie began. "But the song he helped with turned out to be a hit."

"That's fantastic," I congratulated.

"Thanks," Josie smiled before we went our separate ways. "Tell him that I hope he keeps it up."

Later that day I was walking to the stands with a group of people when Josh pulled me to the side, where Reggie was already.

"Guess what coach asked Jo over here," Reggie gestured to Josh.

"What?" I asked.

"Coach offered me a spot to be captain," Josh announced.

"That's amazing," I exclaimed, hugging him.

"That's right my cousin could be the new captain," Reggie let out.

"If I get the captain, we would be a power couple," Josh pointed out with Reggie nodding in agreement. "I would be captain, dating the hottest vixen and you would be the hottest vixen dating the football captain."
