I MAKE MY way to the living room while hugging my book to my chest. I'm humming a little song and a small smile is displayed on my lips.

I look up at Jaxon when he suddenly puts an arm around my shoulder and grins at me lopsidedly. "Hey."

"Hi, Jax," I greet while leaning into him.

He takes my book from me and leads us to the couch where Maddox is seated. He has his head down, his fingers intensely typing away on his phone. I wonder who he's talking to.

"What is this about?" Jaxon asks me as we sit down. I do my best to keep my eyes on him and not on Maddox who I am next to.

I cast him a side glance to see if he'd notice me but he's too busy with his phone.

I can't help but pout a little. Why isn't he noticing me?

I get my book back from Jaxon and place it properly on my lap. My fingers lightly trace over the cover's title. "Fiction and romance."

Jaxon shakes his head at me and a smirk forms on his mouth. "Wow. Way to sell me on the story, Sia."

I'm about to respond to his teasing comment when Dexter suddenly yanks my book away from me and places it on top of a tall shelf. He also does the same thing to Arrows who was busy reading in the armchair. I gape at Dexter the whole time whereas Arrows shoots daggers at him.

What the heck?

"If I see dirt on my book or even just a tiny fold in any of the pages, I'm gonna forget we're friends and I'm actually gonna break your bones," the boy in the glasses warns in a low voice.

How Dexter remains unfazed is beyond me. Does anything ever affect him? "Enough with this book talk before I drop dead 'cause of boredom. We're here to watch the third Harry Potter movie, not go to sleep."

Does this boy even realize Harry Potter is actually a children's book? It's dark and plenty of people gets murdered, but still.

"You're a prick, you're a prick, you're a prick," Blaze starts chanting while throwing popcorn at him.

Jaxon immediately stands up from his seat and head towards Blaze. He takes the bowl away from him and throws a popcorn in his mouth. "I'm taking this before you waste it all away on this fool, you dumbass."

His reply only sparks another series of relentless arguing I've gotten tired of. They fight because of the most useless reasons, and this time around, I don't think they even have one.

They're all over the place but at this point, what's new?

Amidst their boring bickering, I sneakily grab the popcorn Jaxon has left on the table. I actually almost fell on the floor because of my uncoordinated feet but he's too busy proving a senseless point to even notice me.

Maddox does though. He nudges me on my shoulder.

"Is that as stealthy as you can get, Sel?" he teases me. I just purse my lips and roll my eyes at him. I then put a popcorn in my mouth.
