Thank you for reaching the end of Selena's story! Thank you for all the support and for all the love you've given the character. It's been a very, very long and bumpy ride for me and I'm so glad that I finally reached the finish line. Yay! 😁🥰🤗

It wasn't easy writing Selena and it took me 5 years just to accomplish it. She's a complex character and I had a hard time expressing her thoughts and struggles. She has a somewhat tragic story and it was mentally, emotionally, and even physically draining for me to continue.

But as tragic as her story might be, I thought Selena's story was beautiful too because it's a story about self-love—something I have struggled with myself. Aside from the promise I made my best friend, I pursued to finish Unreciprocated Feelings Between Me and You because I knew that if I managed to get it out to the world, many people will have the chance to see themselves in Selena because we abuse ourselves most of the time by giving our everything. I wanted people to connect to her and learn from her because that's the sole purpose of the existence of her character.

For me, Selena got the ending she deserves because it's the ending she chose for herself. It might not be the happiest but it's certainly not the worst. It's an optimistic conclusion to a story that builds on every agony the character felt. ✨✨✨
