The day had come they were going to the arena Jordan had spent all night with Sarah talking about strategy and different scenarios they would be in. He made it to his pod and got dressed in the attire suited for the games.

They were wetsuits which made him think there was lots of water in this arena. His district number was printed on the back of the suit. He was a pretty strong swimmer so he was confident that he would make it to the cornucopia. When he was dressed Blight came in the room and immediately hugged him. "Don't tell Sarah but I've got bets on you." He said as he let go of the embrace. 2 minutes till countdown. Jordan felt his blood rising and it showed on his face. "Jordon your odds are better than any one else's in that arena you will come home." Blight said aiding him in getting in the tube. He realized he had his bracelet from his sister still on and knew that he had to go home for her for Julia. 30 seconds till launch Jordan stepped in the tube and the door closed from the top down. He looked out to see Blight waving as his tube started to rise. The hunger games was beginning. He was blinded by the light when the tube came to the surface. He looked around when his vision came back and could see he was surrounded by water and then islands bordered the tribute pod. One island seemed to be moving very slowly which made him nervous of what was to come. The cornucopia was in the center nearly a fourth a mile away from the pods which was extremely far to swim. 20 19 His blood pressure rose as he got ready for the swim. He turned to his left and saw Azure right next to the podium he was on and she was a super strong swimmer. And to his right was Glamour from 1 who was also very fit. 5,4 ,3 ,2 , 1 beep Jordon dove into the water and swam with all his life. He got closer and closer to the cornucopia. When he finally made it Azure had already climbed up and was running in to grab things. Jordan and Glamour got up at the same time about 10 feet apart. They were running for the same axe. Jordan was a faster runner and picked up the axe. Glamour turned to run and made it about 20 feet away but Jordan turned the axe on its side and threw it. It flew through the air with a soft hiss as it found its resting spot deep in Glamours back. She screamed and collapsed off the cornucopia into the water. He picked up the throwing knives and a backpack and looked for Sarah who was still swimming. He saw the boy from 1 Rich waiting for her with a spear winding up to throw it. Jordan threw one of his knives full force at Rich's neck. It flew through the air with great force but the boy from 8 ran in front of it and it was sent deep in his head. He collapsed and blood poured onto the floor. Jordan slyly put a knife in his wetsuit making a hole that he could feel the cold metal through just in case. Rich saw this commotion and charged at Jordan. Instead of stabbing him with his spear he shouldered him to the ground and got on top of him. "You've got no where to run." Rich said taunting him as he had a spear to his neck. "It's a shame your hot." Jordan said and he grabbed the knife from his pocket and jabbed it in Rich's stomach forcing him off of Jordan. He grabbed Riches spear and jabbed it through his neck killing him instantly. Azure grabbed his shoulder and pointed to show Sarah, Talupe and Laurel running for one of the three other islands and diving into the water. Jordan picked up another axe and his backpack and shoved 8 throwing knives in it then headed for towards Sarah and the others while Azure followed. He dove into the water and felt the cold water rush all over his body. The bag weighed him down but in time he was out of reach form the cornucopia and was near the island. As he got nearer he tasted some of the water and tasting the salt. This water was undrinkable and they had to find other water sources. As he got to the beach he saw Sarah Laurel and Talupe sitting and waiting. Azure made it there first and hugged them seeing as they made it out. Jordan followed about a minute after with his bag and hugged Sarah in a tight embrace. 6 cannons went off one by one. It just hit him that he murdered three innocent people. He felt like a monster and a murderer. He let go of Sarah and they talked. "Only 6 that's not very many from the bloodbath." Laurel said confused. "There were only two careers to kill everyone." Jordan replied. "Why's that." Sarah asked shocked "I killed Glamour within an instant of reaching the cornucopia and Rich was waiting for you to swim to the cornucopia to kill you so I attacked accidentally killing the district 8 boy. I stabbed Rich with his own spear just a minute later." Jordan said shocked at what he had done. "We made it this far just a little farther." Talupe said as they all started to walk inland. He chopped at the branches with a machete as they walked for about a mile. "We need a safe place to se-." He was mid sentence when he fell into water. Jordan bent downward and took a swig of it and concluded it was freshwater. "It's freshwater it's drinkable." He said as all the others got in and started drinking. Within minutes of them drinking Jordan knew this was to good to be true this was the hunger games and they wanted a show. He felt a brisk movement past his leg that was knee deep in the water. "Everyone stop moving somethings in here with us." As he looked around his attention immediately turned to Talupe who started screaming. "It got me help." He yelled as it had his leg turning the water red. They were in a marsh so the water was to murky to make-out what was in the water with them. "It's squeezing my leg help." "Girls run I got this." Jordan said as the girls ran out of the water. Jordan looked closer as the body of what had Talupe surfaced revealing a massive green anaconda slowly climbing up Talupe's leg eating it slowly. As Talupe continued to howl in pain Jordan realized this snake was not just massive it was humongous and about 30 feet long. As Jordan swung at it with his axe and Talupe swung his machete.the snake did not let go. He swam after Talupe and the snake as they got deeper and deeper into the water until Jordan could not touch the bottom. Talupe was dragged under the water and Jordan immediately turned and swam out of the water. Nervous he could be the next victim. Talupe's cannon was heard a minute later and Azure screamed. Jordan immediately covered her mouth. "We lost Talupe but we don't want to all die too so shhhh." He said putting the hand that wasn't over her mouth to his own indicating that she should be quiet. She stopped screaming and he took his hand off of her mouth. "7 down and 17 more to go." Laurel said as it began to get dark. "Let's set up camp in the clearing about 25 yards that way. I don't think the snake can leave the marsh." Azure said. They all trudged back to the clearing and sat they shared what they had got from the cornucopia. Sarah and Laurel had no weapons but togethor they had 2 loaves of bread and 4 water bottles so Jordan gave Sarah his axe and Azure gave Laurel a knife in exchange for sharing the bread that thank goodness was in a air tight bag. Jordan still had 8 throwing knives 3 bottles of water for himself and an apple along with rope and a small coil of wire. As they finished sharing they heard a cannon go off and stood up to see the ships coming in to take the dead bodies. But no ship came for Talupe's body because it had been digested. The sky lit up and show the fallen tributes which were both Glamour and Rich from 1 the girl from 3 Talupe from 4 the boy from 6 the boy from 8 and the girls from 9 and 12. "That was eventful." Sarah said sarcastically as she laid down for sleep. "I'll take the first watch." Jordan said sitting up for the first few hours of the night. Late in the night he heard rustling in the bushes and went to investigate. As he neared the sound he saw metal and a parachute. He grabbed it and headed back to where the group was sleeping to open it. It was paper and a pen. Jordan was really confused at this and didn't know what to do with it. He looked down and saw a note. To help you navigate-B Jordan realized this was to make a map. He made praying hands to signal a thank you to Blight. He started sketching what he had seen so far and that was the cornucopia and the three islands. He drew some of the island he was on and realized he should label the anaconda pond as a place he shouldn't go unless he needed water badly. Then he woke up Azure for her shift. And he immediately passed out.
