I stood under a tree as sunlight danced through the branches. Trying to find inspiration for an art project proved difficult.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm searching for inspiration."

"You won't find it in a tree."

I looked at Aiden leaning on his bike. "Then what do you suggest?"

"Going for a ride." He shrugged.

I put my hand on my hip. "If you mean your dick, forget it. No one wants to see a pinky size dick." I raised my pinky finger and moved it.

Aiden rolled his eyes. "Trust me. My dick isn't small."

I rolled my eyes. Anything that Aiden says doesn't offend me. Look at who my parents are.

"You'll find inspiration if you get out of your comfort zone. Plus, we have to spend time together for our parenting class. No kid wants their parents to fight."

I walked towards Aiden. "All parents fight."

"Yeah, but not constantly. Do your parents always fight?"

"My parents are abnormal."

"I figured you would say your parents are fantastic."

"I'm not delusional. I know my parents. They're abnormal."

Aiden chuckled. What? It's true. My parents spend more time trying to get me to do bad things than punishing me. Like I said, abnormal.

Aiden got on his bike and helped me on the back. He drove until we pulled into the parking lot of a park. We got off his bike, and I looked around to see couples, kids, and families spending time together.

"Why are we at a park?"

"You wanted inspiration."

We looked at each other, then walked around as I observed my surroundings.

"What made you get into art?"

"I enjoy the freedom of expressing myself."

"How so?"

"Art isn't perfect. Everyone interprets it differently. But it's the freedom to create without judgment."

"So, why do you judge your parents?"

"I don't judge my parents but wish they wouldn't act happy when I do bad things. Most parents don't throw a party if you skip school."

Aiden chuckled.

"But it could be worse. I could have parents who don't care or are strict, which I don't. They give me freedom but support me. My dad is amazing."

Aiden glanced at me.

"My dad has always encouraged me to try things or pursue my dreams. When I got a scrape from learning to ride a bike, he patched me up and had me try again. When a kid made fun of me, he told me that their opinion wasn't shit, then put the kid in his place."

Aiden snickered.

"Mom and Dad would read bedtime stories to me. Dad would wear a crown and dress in a feather boa when we had a tea party. Mom would paint my nails and let me pick out my outfits even if they were hideous."

"That doesn't sound like your parents are abnormal, but they care about you."

"Yeah, they do. What about you?"

"What about me?"

"How are things with you and your parents?"

"My parents love me."
