Harlow

I stopped by the bike shop as Jag threw a wrench.

"Asshole!"

Dad glanced up from the bike he was fixing

"Listen! If you break anything, I'll break your head!" Roc told Jag.

"Then tell Ranger to bring his bike in sooner. How the hell do I get the sludge out of the exhaust?" Jax gestured at the bike.

"Flush it. It's not that difficult, but you make it that way!"

Roc walked over to Jag and argued about a bike. I shook my head and strolled over to Dad. He pushed a milk crate over to me. I sat down and dropped my bag on the concrete floor.

"I thought you were hanging with Aiden."

"We're meeting later. Aiden had to help Krista."

"That had better be all that he's doing."

"Dad."

Dad continued to work on a bike. "Harlow, I don't want you to get your heart broken because Aiden can't control his dick."

"Then trust me that I know how to handle myself."

Dad glanced at me.

"I'm seeing where things are going. Plus, I have my art submission to complete."

"Have you figured out what you want to do?"

"I thought I did, but I'm not so sure. I wanted to sketch something that means something."

"Well, art is subjective. Not everyone will like what you do."

"I guess." I blew air past my lips.

"You'll figure it out." Dad got up and gestured at me.

I moved out of the way as he back the bike out of the shop. He grabbed another bike to repair it.

"I swear to God that I'll put your head through a wall!" Roc told Jag.

"Bite me!"

Roc walked towards me, shaking his head. "Hey, Harlow."

"Hey, Roc."

"How's the art submission going?"

"It's going." I picked up my bag. "I have to go." I left and headed home.

I pushed a bike into the shop because it wouldn't start. I dropped the kickstand and grabbed some tools.

"What's up with Harlow?"

"Her art submission deadline is approaching. The school committee doesn't want scenery. They want a more personal subject. Harlow has a difficult time with sketching people." I wrenched on bolts.

"Then why don't you give her one?"

I glanced at Roc and leaned on the bike.

"You know your kid better than anyone."

"Harlow has a mind of her own."

"It doesn't mean that she won't accept your help."

I rubbed my chin while looking at Roc. "Jag!"

"What?"

"Come here!"

Jag tossed a tool into a box and strolled over to us.

"I need some help with Harlow."

Jag arched his brow. Roc and Jag would do anything for Harlow. While the boys got into trouble, Harlow didn't. Roc and Jag took a shine to her. Plus, my idea would guarantee Harlow a place in that art school.
