Harlow

The front door burst opened. Aiden and I looked up from our homework.

"What are you doing?" Dad asked us.

Aiden and I glanced at each other. Rocco and Jag entered the house. Krista came out of the kitchen while drying her hands.

"And what's this?" Dad pointed at my pregnancy pad.

"It's the pregnancy pad the teacher requires the girls to wear for the next four weeks."

"What?"

"Our parenting class. Did you hit your head?"

Dad wagged his finger at me. "Jag said that you were locking lips."

"Well, we kissed, and now, we're doing homework."

Dad's eyes bulged, along with the vein in his forehead.

"I stood up and tried to balance myself. "Relax. It's not like Aiden tossed me on his bed and gave it to me good."

Dad's jaw clenched as his eyes narrowed. Roc and Jag were trying to stifle their laughter.

"That's not funny, Harlow."

"Neither is your dad acting like a stark raving lunatic."

"But I have the right."

"You throw me a party when I do something bad."

"Your mom and I want to support you."

"Then realize that we're not doing anything. I'm not a hoe!" I put my hands on my waist.

Roc and Jag lost it and laughed.

Dad turned to them. "Do you mind?"

"Nope, you keep digging yourself a deeper hole," Roc said.

Dad rolled his eyes.

"Plus, I doubt Aiden could find my hole. It's not like he did a bang-up job with me." I pointed at the pregnancy pad.

Dad glanced at Roc and Jag. "Stop laughing!"

Jag walked over to us. "Then stop acting like a douche."

"Do you want me to beat your ass?"

I stepped away as Roc had to separate Jag and Dad.

Aids stood up and stepped towards them. "Did it occur to anyone that I won't force Harlow into anything? I'm not stupid."

"Are you sure about that?" Dad asked.

Roc rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, I am." Aiden shook his head. "Look, I took Harlow to the cabin, and nothing happened."

"I don't believe you."

"Believe whatever you want." Aiden shrugged. "If I wanted to nail a chick, I would."

Dad, Jag, and Roc looked at Aiden. I knitted my brows. Aiden walked past them, grabbed his jacket, and left. What in the world?

I sat down on the porch and wrapped my arms around my legs. The door opened and closed. Harlow sat down next to me.

"Ignore my dad."

"Your dad worries about you."

"Yeah, but he should trust me."

I glanced at Harlow.

"You can distrust people, but you should trust your kid. Sometimes, I don't think my parents trust my judgment."

"Is that how you feel?"
