Harlow

We arrived at a rental house and carried boxes inside.

"Will you shut up? Damn, I need to superglue your lips shut!" Roc said.

We stopped.

"Tell Diesel to knock it off!" Rebel said.

"Aw, someone's panties are in a bunch," Rebel said, laughing.

"Blow it out of your ass!"

"How about you both blow out of your asses?" Roc asked.

We noticed Rocky, Elise, and Jaden sitting in the living room.

"Aren't you going to help?" Dad asked them.

"Nope, because Roc can handle his boy and nephew," Jaden said.

"Listen, you have one more roommate coming," Roc said.

"Yeah, we know it's Harlow," Rebel said.

"Besides Harlow."

"Who?"

"The housing commission didn't tell us and said they had a displaced student."

"Well, that's fanfickingtastic!"

Roc came downstairs.

"Issues?" Dad asked Roc.

"I'm glad this fucking school offers more than art. If I have to listen to my boy and nephew bitch, I'll beat the hell out of them."

Dad chuckled.

"Elise, say bye to our boy and let's go," Roc said.

"Excuse you?" Elise asked Roc.

"Please, baby, say goodbye to our loving son."

"I thought that's what you meant." Elise went upstairs to say goodbye to Rebel.

"Chicks," Roc said.

Mom and Dad helped me to get settled in and left, along with Jaden and Rocky. Great, I get the next few years with Yin and Yang.

I showed up to my first class and found a seat at a table. After other students arrived, the instructor entered the room.

"Good morning, students. My name is Professor Lacky. You're here because the art committee chose your art submissions. Now, we will work on refining your skills. I want you to sketch someone in your life."

"Can it be anyone?" A student asked.

"Yes, if you knew them."

I opened the sketchbook cover and started sketching. I started with an essential framework, added lines, and erased the guides. The outline materialized into a person as I shaded to create depth.

"My nose doesn't look like that," someone said.

I stopped shading and turned my head to face Aiden.  My jaw slacked as I stared at Aiden.

Aiden slid onto a stool next to me, took my sketchbook, and altered my sketch. He finished and slid it back to me. "There, now my nose is correct."

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm attending art school like you."

"No, what are you doing here?"

"I told you."

"But you hate school."

"No, I hate condescending teachers who treat high school kids like they're two. Big difference."
