I looked up at the clock groaning, 6am, it's only been an hour. I ran my hands through my hair and let out a long sigh.
I need another coffee.
Yep, that's exactly what I need.
I got up from my seat at the kitchen island and trudged into the lounge, pulling an oversized jumper over my head and quickly slipping my shoes on, before quietly making my way to the door.
Letting out a gasp as the cold air hit my skin. I grabbed my keys of the small table by my side, and silently shut the door behind me.
I frowned at the silence as I walked down the street, fucking hell, it's like a ghost town. I mean, what can I expect it's 6 in the morning on a Saturday....nobody's awake apart from....well me.
I turned the corner, my eyes focused on the small café at the end of the street. Just a few more yards before I can get the perfect cup of coffee.
I pushed the door open, the sound of the bell chime echoing through my ears as I walked in.
"Hey" Kimberly said rushing over, obviously shocked to see me there.
"Hi" I said giving her a small smile
"What are you doing here?!" She beamed, hugging me.
"I need coffee, I can't sleep" I explained hugging her back gently "what are you doing here?" I asked "working I imagine" I added, looking down at her uniform, answering my own question.
"Yeah, what can I get for you?" She asked
"Frappeccuino" I answersd, dragging my hand over my face.
"Coming right up" she smiled, beginning to make the drink.
How can one girl have some much energy this early in the morning?
My head snapped up at the sound of the bell ringing through the shop. I looked over my shoulder, watching closely as the tall stranger walked in.
"Oh, I thought I'd be the only one here this early in the morning. " he stated, pulling his hood further over his face.
"Well you're not" I said, snapping slightly.
"Oohh someone's grouchy without their coffee" he mocked
"Oohh someone clearly wants a drink over there head" I replied sarcastically.
"Is that a threat sweetheart?" He asked in a low tone, his whole demeanor changing.
"No, it's a promise" I said flatly.
"Here" Kimberly said quietly, placing the drink in front if me, noticing the tension between the two of us.
"Thanks" I mumbled "bye kim" I called over my shoulder, turning on my heel.
"Bye sweetheart" the guy called mockingly, as I walked out the door.
Asshole.
