What iS PaRDeS?
PaRDeS is an acronym formed from four (4) words. These four words are levels of scripture interpretation and they are P'shat (Pa), Remez (R), D'rash (De) and Sod (S).
The P'shat is the literal, simple and plain intended meaning.
The Remez is the alluded meaning, that is, reading between the lines
The D'rash is the drawn out meaning (Midrash – concept)
The Sod is the hidden meaning

These four levels were used at the time of Yeshua and Paul. They are still in use today.

There are four levels in the PaRDeS Scripture Interpretation. Each of which stands firm and is important in the interpretation of the scriptures especially the Torah – Books written by Moses.
