After the film had finished, Kat and Chan realised that Changbin and Felix were asleep.
It was quite late now, but then again it's not like Chan or Kat would be sleeping anytime soon. Gotta love being an insomniac.
They left them asleep on the couch and went upstairs to Kat's room to avoid waking them up from making any noise.
"Hey, can I ask you a question?" Chan suddenly asked.
"Yeah, go for it." Kat responded, flashing a warm smile.
"Are you okay? Like really okay, no lies, no worrying about the others being here, just are you okay?" Chan asked, Kat could clearly hear the sincerity and worry in his voice.
This slightly took Kat by surprise since she had hoped he wouldn't think anything of it when they were watching the movie.
"How come you ask?" she said trying to avoid having to answer Chan's question.
"I'm just worried about you," he began "firstly with the break up with Lia, of course you suffer with insomnia which isn't easy, there's how you reacted in the film, and also don't think I don't see how you get when you realise you've got to be alone."
Shittttt.
He's really on to her.
It's not that she hid her mental illness, just that she didn't like speaking about out of fear of it affecting her friends, with the exception of Changbin knowing.
"I'm fine, really." she said, with a small laugh to cover the uncertainty in her voice.
"You're lying." he stated bluntly.
"How would you know?" she retaliated.
People normally just accept her answer when she tells them that she's okay, so she wasn't used to someone not accepting this.
"Kat, it's not like we're strangers."
"I- well- no but-" she stuttered, not knowing what to say anymore.
Chan cut in "I'm not gonna force you to say anything you don't want to talk about, but you know I'll always be here for you, okay?"
Kat looked down and nodded her head, "Thank you, Chan." she whispered.
He pulled her in for a hug and they stayed there for a minute.
...
Until the front door was heard being opened.
Kat jumped away from Chan and basically flew down the stairs to greet her dad who had just walked in the door.
"Dad!" she shouted and hugged him.
She was excited because, although her relationship was not exactly bad with her dad, they never really see each other due to her dad always being at work or Kat always being at school.
"Hey Kitkat!" her father hugged her back.
Felix and Changbin walked out the living room, looking like zombies.
"Kat, what's all the noise- Ah! Mr Moon! Hi!" Changbin said, realising Kat's father was home.
"Changbin, hi! How are you? I didn't realise you had friends over, Rin?" he said, referencing to Chan standing on the stairs behind Kat and Felix standing next to Changbin, still half asleep and zombified.
"Yeah, we were watching movies." Kat responded lightly.
"Ah, as long as you all had fun!" her father said.
