The bell rang signalling that class was over and everyone grabbed their stuff ready to head to second period.

Math.

Ew.

I'm literally awful at math.

If you took the mathematical skill set from a rat on the street and divided that by a thousand, that is my mathematical skills.

It didn't help that Mr. Yoon hated me too. I don't know if it was just because I always get the answers wrong but he really hated me.

My friend, Hyejin, was in my class which made it bearable at least.

All the other boys were too smart to be put into this class.

I walked in and rested my head on the table as soon as I sat down.

"What's wrong with you today?" Hyejin mumbled, concern peeking through in her tone.

"Soomin." I responded bluntly.

"Of course it's fucking her. Kat you know she's a bitch you can't let her ruin your whole mood for the day." Hyejin whined.

She hated when I was in a bad mood because I would barely talk.

"I know I know," I muttered "I can't exactly be all cheery when I've been called a slur first thing on a Monday morning though, can I?"

"She did what?!" Hyejin shouted in a whisper, her face has a shocked expression.

Everyone knows that Soomin is a homophobic piece of shit but we always get shocked by the shit that comes out of her mouth.

I continued explaining to Hyejin what happened, even about Chan coming over.

"Chan stood up for you?" she questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah." I replied, not even thinking to question her tone.

She smirked.

"Kat..." she said longing out my nickname.

"Would you... you know... get with him?"

"What?!" I almost shouted, the teacher looked at me but didn't bother to call me out for speaking, my grades in math are a lost cause anyway.

"I mean he's hot, talented, caring, basically perfect..." she listed all the great things about him.

"Stop," I cut her off "I couldn't get with Chan for God's sake! He's like family, you know. All eight of them are."

"Oh shut up Kat, me and you both know you're lying to yourself right now."

Am I?

Those boys really are family though.

"Hyejin, you know I can't date properly though. Even if I was to date one of those boys, I would only hurt them, and I could never put them through that." I said sadly to my friend.

"I know, but really I think one of them could treat you right. Especially Chan! You've seen how he cares for people."

"I know, I just don't know if I'm ready for that yet you know?"

She huffed.

I hate how my life impacts everyone I'm friends with.
