Rebecca was once again freaking out as she walked down the hall, away from the piano room to get the emblem for Chris. She was an absolute blushing mess, thinking about what had just transpired between them.

How embarrassing. She thought to herself,

Was I the only one who thought we connected?

   He pulled away so fast.

But he also didn't mention it.

   Is he really that dense?

Rebecca huffed to herself as she opened the door to the dining room, and spotted the emblem above the fireplace. She was a bit annoyed with him, embarrassed with herself too, but she sure wasn't going to mention it. She would wait for him to bring it up, if he even noticed anything. If she mentioned it, and he didn't feel the same, it would kill her. Better not to know, or to think he was oblivious, than to get shut down like that.

She didn't want to stop liking him.

Because liking him made her feel lighter than air.

Still blushing, and still thinking, she reached for the emblem in the wall and gripped it in her fingers. She tugged a bit, but it wouldn't budge. She sighed, grunting as she pulled harder,

"Come on..." She muttered, until finally it came loose, sending Rebecca backwards a bit faster than she wanted. Her back slammed into the dining table and she winced. The pain brought her back to reality and made her forget everything she had to be embarrassed about. She stood upright again, rubbing her back and making her way back to the door,

   "This better be worth something..."

Chris was still sitting in the passage, also thinking, though mostly confused and less embarrassed.

He was sort of dense when it came to other people's emotions.

But something about the way Rebecca acted around him made his chest hurt..? He put his hand over it.

Turns out he was dense when it came to his own emotions as well.

   What was that feeling?

He was also thinking it was taking Rebecca too long to go down the hallway, and he was concerned one of those red demons had gotten to her. But he hadn't heard anything, so he stayed put in fear of destroying his ankle further.

He heard a gunshot and it made him sit up fast. Fuck his ankle if Rebecca was in trouble. He scrambled to his feet and started making his way out of the passage. He barely made it to the entrance when he saw the door open, and Rebecca rushed in, slamming the door closed.

She shoved her gun in the holster on her hip. Something banged against the door, like it had been running toward her, and continued to do so. Rebecca was trying her best to hold the door shut and the large emblem in her arms.

"Chris!" She called, and Chris took that as 'get over here and help me', so he limped over to her as fast as he could and whipped out his gun.

"Open the door" he ordered, and she did so just enough for whatever creature to shove its face into the open space, attempting to reach its arm in as well. Turns out it was one of the red super demon zombies.

Rebecca could barely hold the door steady; those things were way stronger than regular zombies. Chris shoved the barrel of his gun against its forehead through the crack in the door and pulled the trigger, the impact sending the crimson zombie flying backwards. It sent Rebecca flying forward as the door closed again, her face colliding with it as it did so. Her breathing was heavy and she looked terrified. She shoved the emblem into Chris' hand and slid down the door onto the floor.
