6 am

Rebecca and Billy, barely escaping the Treatment Plant that belonged to the Pharmaceutical Company, Umbrella Corporation, found themselves climbing a hill. Rebecca had a million thoughts swimming around in her head. What she had discovered about Umbrella, what their true goal was, the terrible experiments she had learned they were carrying out.

Nothing about what she had just experienced made any sense, and everything about it was terrifying.

Why were they climbing a hill by the way? Rebecca really wanted to get a better view of the forest, and the hill seemed like a pretty convenient way to do that. Billy flopped down onto the ground, leaning on his hands behind him. Rebecca checked her watch. 6 am, and the clouds were still looming over Raccoon Forest. Did it ever get sunny here?

Rebecca kneeled next to Billy. They were both exhausted, but Rebecca knew that although Billy and her would be parting ways, this nightmare was far from over. She saw a mansion in the middle of the woods, far off in the distance. She exhaled, thinking of probably an hour ago when she had run into her captain Enrico somewhere in the facility. She had been relieved to see him alive, but had left her soon after they met.

There's an old mansion nearby that Umbrella uses for research.

That's what he had said to her. He wanted her to go with him, apparently the others had made for the mansion as well. At the time, though, Billy had been swept up by one of those monsters created by Umbrella, and she needed to find him. So she told Enrico she would meet up with him and the others.

But Enrico had found out about Umbrella too. She wondered if he knew about the other things she had encountered also.

She hadn't had the chance to tell him about Edward, or any of the other things she had faced in the last few hours. But she would. She would get to this mansion, and find the others, and they would expose Umbrella for all of the horrifying things they were doing. Once they put all the pieces together, that is. She didn't have them all herself. She knew Umbrella was involved, though. There's no way they couldn't be.

Billy cleared his throat next to her, pulling her out of her thoughts. He had finally ditched the handcuffs that had been on his wrists, and was now looking in her direction.

"Look... I don't usually get sentimental but.. Thanks, for you know.. Staying with me." Rebecca smiled at Billy's words. They had grown surprisingly close over the hours they had been fighting for their lives together.

She thought of something else Enrico had told her, when she mentioned Billy.

Leave him, Rebecca. He's a criminal.

Rebecca didn't think so. She couldn't bring herself to think of Billy as a criminal anymore. She reached over and ripped his dog tags off his neck. He looked at her in surprise,

"Rebecca?" She shushed him, putting the tags around her neck instead.

"I'll take these back to my captain. Billy Coen is now dead." He continued to look at her, clearly impressed. He couldn't help but smirk as he saw her putting them on,

"Do you need to wear them?" He asked. Rebecca gave him a glare, tucking the dog tags under her shirt.

"We won't be seeing each other, Billy. But I think of you as a friend." Billy understood and he was once again taken by surprise. The dog tags weren't just for proof to her superiors. They were to remember him by.

"...Thank you Rebecca." He managed to say. Rebecca gave him a cheesy salute as she stood up. Billy stood up too, repeating the gesture.

"As you were, soldier!" Rebecca said excitedly. She didn't want Billy to see her sad, or troubled, although she was both of those things at the moment. She started hurrying down the hill after they finished their salute, giving him a small wave.
