POV HOPE

I don't know which part was more embarrassing, waking up with no clothes on among the girls not knowing what had happened, or realizing they were all scared of me. I decided to find out what happened next. Josie told me her dad was in trouble and I took Lizzie's car to meet them in the woods. It was difficult to convince the twins that it was better for me to go alone, but I managed. He didn't go into much detail before the call dropped, so I stomped on the gas and walked over to them. The locator spell took me to the forest Dr. Saltzman had shown me the map that morning. I spotted your car and parked nearby. I strained my ears and could hear voices and a growl. I used vampire speed to get to them and was surprised by what I saw. Kaleb was down and supported by the MG, apparently he had been bitten and was in bad shape. Dr. Saltzman pointed a crossbow at the wolf with light brown fur, he couldn't identify who was more scared in that scene.

H: - Interesting hunt you have here, in ?

MG: - Hope, quick, Kaleb got bitten.

Healing Kaleb was important, but I thought it best to take care of our canine problem first. I used magic to hurl him against a tree and then the same sleep spell Lizzie used against me earlier. Once our wolf was knocked out, I ran to Kaleb and gave him my blood. Moments later, with him healed and everyone calmed down, I thought I'd better take precautions with that werewolf. I took Lizzie's car keys out of my pocket and handed it to Kaleb.

H: - The car is next to the one you came, it's better to go back to school.

MG: - And you?

K: - And he? - Kaleb said pointing to the unconscious werewolf on the ground.

A: - We'll catch up with you right away.

They didn't argue. As soon as they left, we approached the guy lying on the ground, Dr. Saltzman still with the gun in his hand. He took off his jacket, covered it, and went to the car to get some chains so we could secure him, even though I said it wasn't necessary. While he didn't come back, I got a better look at our fallen enemy: dark, tall, strong man, he must have been in his thirties and... I noticed he wore a familiar ring. I thought it best to remove it, if my thinking was right it would ensure it remained harmless when it woke up. When Dr. Saltzman came back, we tied him up with the chains and dragged him to the car; we put it in the trunk and headed back to school.

While we were still on the road, he decided to break the silence:

A: - A wolf that can transform without a full moon, I'm curious about that.

H: - Yeah, me too.

A: - Any guesses?

H: - Maybe, but I think it's better to wait for him to wake up to be sure of something.

The rest of the way was silent. Our prisoner didn't wake up once, though I didn't think the spell was solely responsible for his sleep. Fifteen minutes later, we were at school. We arrived shortly after Kaleb and MG, who were waiting for us outside with the girls. The twins ran into their father as soon as we got out of the car.

LI: - MG told you what happened, are you alright?

A: - No need to worry, everything is fine.

K: - And the wolf?

H: - In the trunk, but I'll take care of that.

Before they entered, Cleo came to me, who was checking on the prisoner still asleep and chained.

C: - Hope, thanks for saving Kaleb.

H: - No need to thank you for that. Actually, Cleo, I...

I didn't know how to say it, I barely knew what had happened. But I knew she was scared of me when I woke up in her room earlier, I wanted to understand why, but most of all, I wanted her to know that it was never my intention to hurt her.
