POV HOPE

Three weeks, THREE weeks, was how long it took to finally get some news from Paul and the Crescents.

I was on my way back from a relaxing walk in the woods, which I decided to take at the end of the night, when I found two men standing in front of the school entrance. An older man, between 40 and 50 years old, a boy who must have been around 20. I approached and they noticed my presence.

H: - Can I help you?

P: - Hope?

It took me a while to recognize the guy, until I remembered his face. Paul Carter, one of my mother's advisers when she was alpha and now current alpha of the Crescents. He smiled at me before I could say anything, apparently very happy to see me.

H: - Paul?

P: - Oh my, how similar you are to your mother! Minus his eyes, he must have taken those of his father.

H: - Probably. - He said smiling. - You guys took a while, I worried for weeks.

P: - I'm sorry, we didn't have any way to send news on the way. We decided to make this trip the old-fashioned way, it was better to check the whole territory.

H: - Where are the others? Or did you just come?

P: - No, a small group came with us, they are setting up camp near here.

I was so excited and relieved by Paul's arrival that I almost didn't notice his date. It was slightly pricey, about 1, 8 0 tall , dark hair, face a little embarrassed, but beautiful. I mentally scolded myself for thinking about it, but it was over. He then smiled at me, and at that moment, a clear memory of who he was came to me.

H: - Julio?!

J: - I thought you wouldn't recognize me! - He said putting the backpack on the floor.

H: - My God, you're almost three feet taller. - Said surprise.

J: - And you are más hermosa que nunca. - He said lowering the sound of his voice.

H: - My Spanish is a little rusty, you'll have to speak my language. - He said smiling.

He returned a slightly embarrassed smile, but then changed his expression to a more relaxed one.

J: - I just said that you apparently forgot to grow up.

H: - Apparently, your idiocy grew with the height. - She said laughing and punching his arm. – What did you do with your hair ?

J: - Did you like it?

I couldn't answer. Paul , who was watching us laughing at us, interrupted me.

P: - I'm glad they're still friends like that, but we need to sort something out, Hope. - He said assuming a more serious expression. - J u lesson, help others set up camp, you will have time to put the conversation on the day.

Julio seemed disappointed with his father, we were really excited to see each other again, we would have continued to talk for a long time if not in Paul interrupted. But he ended up obeying his father with a less happy face.

J: - Right, I'm coming. Can I ask for a hug first?

I don't know if he asked me or Paul, but regardless, I answered him:

H: - Of course, but you'll have to bend down. - He said laughing and opening his arms.

It had been so long since we'd seen each other, but that hug was so familiar. I felt really happy that he was there. After we parted, he headed towards the forest to join the other Crescent wolves. I turned to Paul and said:
