The princess was flipping through the most recent book that Ymir had swiped from the royal library for her, and she was doing her best to ignore her husband standing right in front of her.
He'd been berating her for the past couple of minutes and she was two straws away from slamming the book on his head.
"[Name],"
"Zeke, I do not want to go. Tell me why you cannot understand my wishes." the princess huffed as she set down her book on her table.
Zeke was as determined and as much of a nuisance as ever.
"If you go it will show everyone that the alliance is strong against our enemies. Lord Ackerman has betrayed both our countries, it's imperative that you attend his execution."
"I do not enjoy executions." she turned to look at him, her black dress making a terrible noise as she did.
"No one does."
Despite her wishes she walked out with her husband into the courtyard where a crowd was already forming. Not even half an hour had passed as they sat next to the King and Queen of Marley, before Zeke began to show his impatience.
"This is taking far too long father," Zeke mumbled through Lord Ackermann's speech. "Just take his head and be done with it."
"Settle down, son." the king said.
Zeke wrinkled his nose. "It's your birthday today, why must you even hold an execution this very day?"
[Name] kept a straight face as she stared off into the crowd below her, but kept a sharp ear at the argument they were having, and she felt chills run up her spine by the coldness in the king's words.
"To make a statement." he looked idly at the man he used to call his friend, standing next to the execution block. "Never cross the King of Marley."
Needless to say, she regretted ever listening to her loathsome husband. He couldn't even show Kenny Ackerman an ounce of respect as he laid his head down on the block. She took a deep breath when she saw the executioner pick up his axe.
"Zeke..." she spoke carefully to grab her husband's attention. "What is it that Lord Ackerman did again?"
The blonde man rested his head on his hand as he looked at the scene with disinterested eyes.
"He disclosed crucial military information to Slava."
"Our countries' most formidable enemy." she grimaced.
Zeke nodded.
"Do you feel pity for such human-garbage?"
"I never said that–" she was silenced when his hand guided her jaw towards the execution block just as the axe came down on the man's neck.
