SHE IGNORED HIM.

When Eren brought up his suspicions that Zeke had murdered Grisha, [Name] denied it, she denied it a thousand times over.

But the thing is that [Name] knew, she knew it was the truth.

She had figured it out one night when Zeke came stumbling into her room, drunk and disoriented. He fell onto her lap and began to spew his secrets and regrets, how he wished they could start over, how he wished she was more devoted... how he wished he hadn't put such pressure on them so quickly.

At first, she assumed he meant his relationship with Pieck, but there was absolutely no way he would've been that remorseful about Pieck.

Zeke loved Pieck in his own way, he loved their children together, he loved the reprieve she offered... so he couldn't have meant that he regretted her.

She sat and mulled over his words hours after he'd fallen asleep next to her, and that's when she remembered the words he'd said when Grisha died, the odd way he acted, and how he refused to confide in her... How Zeke was so ready to take the throne, even before his father had passed away.

She remembered her stomach flipping, and the way she practically stumbled off the bed to put distance in between her and Zeke.

She couldn't believe it, she couldn't understand, or more specifically didn't want to understand how Zeke could murder his own father... but here she was years later, knowing the truth and pushing it aside.

She had only told Ymir of her suspicions because she couldn't handle the guilt in her conscious any longer.

Then Eren figured it out.

It complicated things immensely, of course, the Eren she used to know was quick to anger and unpredictable at times. When Eren told her that Zeke killed Grisha, she begged him to keep his suspicions to himself and to stop spreading lies... he walked away without another word.

"Your head's in the clouds, wife," Zeke said, dragging her out of her thoughts.

[Name] took a deep breath and shook her head.

"I'm just worried for Gale," She lied, as she settled into her saddle, her horse offering a sound of approval as she did so. "It's his first hunting trip."

She looked behind them to see her son saddled on top of a brown and white spotted horse, Colt Grice seated behind him, with one hand on the rein and another over her child's waist.

"There is no need to worry, we are here... with half of the court," Zeke said, and she caught the slight annoyance at the end of his sentence.
