Third person...
The car ride was silent. Or, as silent as it could get. Boots didn't do good in cars, not at all. But the ride was fast.
When they at last made it to the building, Charles charged inside without saying anything. Tori found it out of character, even for an angry Charles. Aaron spoke nothing of it. Tori followed.
While Charles went to go find his bosses, Aaron stayed behind to watch the two girls. One, his possible daughter, and the other, his possibly dead sister.
Sweat trickled down his neck as he got up. He couldn't stay sitting down, not with the hard uncomfortable chairs, and his goddamned fucking dead sister next to him!
Both girl's noticed the change in environment and his behavior, but neither said anything. For a while, the air was thick with confusion and tension. Nobody liked it, yet no one did anything.
It was a stubborn family trait they all had.
Eventually, scared from the tension, Tori excused herself to go to the bathroom. Both Elizabeth and Aaron mentally cursed at her for leaving them alone with eachother. Then they mentally cried for her to come back. It was safe to say that it was the most awkward family reunion ever.
After five minutes, Tori hadn't come back yet. Aaron assumed she wouldn't be back for a while, and took his chance to talk to Elizabeth. It was better to be embarrassed than to have a pit in your heart.
"Liz," Aaron called, and Elizabeth's head whipped to meet his eyes. It was her weakness.
"Don't call me that," she said lowly, and sat straighter.
"Are you really a Russo?" He asked, as calmly as he could. Aaron, inside, was boiling and on the verge of exploding with emotion. Anger, sadness, guilt and the rest of it. Denial, was at his core though.
"Yes... I am. Do you not believe me?" She asked, still not facing him. She couldn't. She knew the consequences of doing so.
"No. I don't. I'm having trouble mistaking you for someone else I used to know."
Elizabeth gulped, but kept her mind clean and clear of objective. She breathed shakily and opened her mouth,
"Who?"
"...she, she was my sister." Aaron felt his eyes burn, but blinked to keep the tears away. He didn't expect her to ask. "You look exactly like her. You sound like her too. I'm just having trouble separating reality and delusion."
"It's hard. I know. The worst part is, delusion is what you take from reality. So you can't exactly separate them completely."
"Elizabeth...-"
"If you can excuse me," Elizabeth exhaled and got up sharply, pressing down her cardigan, "I need to use the ladies room. I'll fetch Victoria as well."
She left before Aaron could speak.
Yes, it was a horrible family reunion. On her way to the bathroom, Elizabeth wondered if she would have to see her other brothers as well. If Vic's plan would go wrong, or if one of them would pay a surprise visit. A feeling, a tugging of sorts, was pulling her discreetly, away from Vic. And closer to her real family.
But, what did she know? It was only a feeling.
She didn't trust those anymore.
