Elizabeth...
"I'm suppost to have you protect me, and give you a lead on Russo. But what will really be happening, is that you'll be killing off Renovi for Russo. And while you are busy fighting off Renovi, I'll take Tori and leave. Two birds with me just coming here and doing my job."
"Jeez. At least talk about the plan in past tense." Charles grumbled.
"Sorry. I know I'm not going to go through with this anymore. After Jacob and Liam came, I couldn't bring myself to leave again. I really don't want to go back with Vic. We'll i-I do, I want to prove myself. I can be better, I can live up to his expectations."
"Elizabeth, why did you agree to help take Tori?" He whispered.
I had gotten up to pour myself something to drink. My legs trembled, but the grip on my cup tightened.
"I was being selfish. Honestly, I think that's it."
"Oh... you don't have to lie. You can tell me, this is confidential, right now-"
"I'm being serious Charles. I really was being selfish. I didn't want to leave because I was finally with my family. My flesh and blood. But I wasn't happy. I was alone, even with Mickey, there were times I felt so alone. I thought that maybe with Tori, life wouldn't be so bad anymore.
"Maybe Vic would stop being the way he is and finally, genuinely smile. And I would be there with her to help her get used to her new life. I would make sure it didn't go like mine had.
"....But, halfway I realized I didn't want that for her. I wanted her to have a better life. But I could bring myself to choose. I was blind."
Charles didn't say anything. I couldn't blame him. But he wanted an answer, and I gave him nothing but honesty.
"Have you chosen yet?" He finally asked.
I looked over at the sleeping Tori and Aaron, cuddled up on the couch. "Yeah. I won't bring her to Vic."
Me and Charles talked for a long time. I told him about how Vic told me the story of how my parents put us in separate homes, and that's why we didn't know about each other until recently. I told him more about Mickey and me, the woman we hired to take care of him while Vic and me were gone.
He interrupted me in the middle of the conversation and came clean about who she was. Apperantly she was the lady who was responsible for killing a bunch of the teenagers working at the factory two years ago.
No wonder she looked familiar.
I also told him about an event that was going to happen later today. I told him either Renovi or Vic would be there. There wasn't a guarantee on either either them showing up, but I was almost certain that Vic would show up.
The event was for all the allies of the eastern gangs to gather and basically just have fun. Of course the people who can't make it, won't go, but other than that, everyone's invited.
There's no fighting at that event. No one is to be planning against another gang, there's no conflict. It's purely for leisure, so that means no weapons inside the building.
And we talked about his theory, that Vic was planning something bug because he was after something. He thought he was after another family member that he needed, and I basically confirmed his theory.
"Right, so I guess we're all on the same page now, right?" I said.
Charles nodded slowly.
We both turned again, for what seemed like the hundredth time to look at Aaron and Tori.
