Third person...
Evan had his head on his palm, looking off to the rest of the crowd who were talking and hollering with their friends.
Evan didn't have friends, it was kind of obvious. Who would want to be friends with a troublemaker like him? Anyone who would ever care would regret it one day, when they realize that he will always be a target, and that he will always fight back.
A fresh wave of students came into the room, and in between them all, was Victoria. She was getting pushed around, like everyone else, but her slight smile didn't fade.
She skipped the long ass line for food, and headed straight for the tables lined against the wall. Evan noticed her, looking for him, going by every single table and looking for him. Others noticed, and shifted away. Evan just chuckled to himself, watching as she wandered clueless. Eventually she got to the last table, in the corner, with only one other person there. Mr. Troublemaker himself.
"You couldn't have waved me over?" She asked annoyed.
"I did," he lied, a smug smile then forming on his lips. "You didn't get lunch?"
"There was a long line. I'll get it later."
Tori had some sort of beam in her eyes, that when she looked at Evan - be it when they're talking, or just a simple glance - he couldn't help but want to find out more. Now she gave him her eyes directly.
"What?" Evan asked.
"I didn't see that scar yesterday," Tori said, with big doe eyes of curiosity. "It's new?"
"Yeah... why?"
"You keep getting into fights... I don't get it," Tori says, and places her face on her cheek. The view Evan got was a cute Tori, squinting like it was going to help her figure it out. "Why don't you just walk away?"
"You've never been in a fight, have you?" Evan assumed.
Well not if you count what Elizabeth did two weeks ago! Tori thought. She remembered she couldn't exactly walk away from the knife that was kissing her throat.
"I don't think so," Tori answered, "But you have. I know you can't walk away from them, but do you always have to fight back?"
Evan looked at her like she was talking about aliens.
"Ugh - I know you have to fight back if they're already punching you - but - haven't you ever tried to talk?"
Evan thought he was about to explode from laughter. Tori looked so serious at such a thought, one, Evan knew too well about.
"Tori, if I try to talk, I'll get punched. I'd rather have a rep of being troublemaker, than to have it as a wimp."
Tori nodded and looked further into his eyes.
"So your reputation means something to you." She said, causing Evan to flinch back a little. He couldn't deny it, it did mean something. At least in school. It kept him from being jumped by strangers, or hated. He was feared.
"I guess it does," he said, giving a small smile. It was faint, and he wasn't looking at Tori directly, but she saw it all.
At his smile, she felt her heart beat alter and become a little faster. He was smiling at something like this. Why would he? Had he come to be with peace with this fact? Either way, Tori liked that she had made him smile.
"O-okay." She smiled back, and carefully took his hand. "It looks like..." his hand was rough and thick, not like the hands a boy should have. "You've been in too many fights. I advise you stick with me, no one will bother you when your with me!"
