Elizabeth...
"Thank you. For the ride.... and you know... everything else."
"What do you mean?" He asked, one eyebrow raised.
"Well, believing in me. I wouldn't have been able to make it this far without you," I tightened my grip on the door as the words came out of my mouth. I didn't like them, but not because I was lying, but because we both knew it was the truth.
"Right. I always have beleived in you Elizabeth, and you in me. I'm glad we are so alike, I think it makes us closer as a family... go get some rest. I will see you in three days." He said, and motioned me to come closer to him.
I did, and he kissed me on the forehead and said goodnight.
I had tunnel vision up until I stepped through the door of the house, with Vic's happy face telling him he's proud of me as the end.
Charles quickly snapped me back to reality.
(A/N: 😏)"I had to hide under the table because Vic was right outside in the damn driveway. I thought you said you could leave without him." He told me.
"I did, I know, but things got complicated when I returned to the lobby!" I said, throwing my little purse onto the couch and trying to quickly take off my heels. But it was becoming more aggressive the more I failed to get them off.
"What made him drop you off? Did he know that we were there?"
"Pff--no. He had no idea."
"Then why?"
"He was bored," I sighed, "and God bless the land when a man is bored. Hey is Tori here?"
"She's sleeping in Aaron's room with the rest of her uncles too. I think they were having a sleepover or something, I smell popcorn."
"Yeah me too I was wondering what that smell was," I said. "I have something to tell you that Vic told me."
He nodded and pulled out a chair for me on the kitchen table.
"Renovi and Vic are going to fake a deal in three days. I don't know where, but I think you will." I said.
"Do you think he's planning to purposely tip us off?"
"Well, he wanted me to tell you that actually. I'm your informant, he wants me to be. He wanted you to hear it from me, the deal. I just don't know where."
"Then I'm sure Vic will let us know himself. I think he'll use the old fashioned decoy--luring us to the meet up spot of the deal with a lead, but he won't be there. Just Renovi--"
"--who showed up early because they want to end their war just as badly. They don't know it, but they're sucking up to Vic." I finished.
"Right. So, thank you for the information missy, but now you gotta go to bed."
"What? Really??" I whined.
"Yes. You and Tori have missed like, 5-"
"4."
"...4 days of school. It could have been just you, but you insisted that Tori stayed with you, so now she's behind."
"She's okay Charles. She's so much better." I said, patting his shoulders as I walked away, yawning. I went into Tori's room and took advantage of the free bed.
Her sheets smelled like her, nice and loving. It reminded me of home, and their love.
They lured me to sleep soundless, with no demons above or under to keep me.
