Chloe's still form stood in the doorway, slightly shaking as though a gunman was in here holding us three hostage and she just happened to walk into the same trap as we did.

She slowly walked towards Jane as we turned back as well.

Chloe kept her head down and handed Jane the coffee.

"Thank you, Ms. Smith." Jane said.

"You're welcome, Ms. Richards."

From that moment, Chloe had spared us one last glance before heading back out towards the office and closing the door.

"She's so sensitive and innocent."

I promise I saw Colton almost choke.

I almost slapped him.

Instead, he received a look.

"As I was saying, Elliana, we can resolve this problem by releasing this one song however you want." She said. "I may not approve of this but it's an idea because this idea is most likely to boost your career. It doesn't need saving. You have enough fame to keep yourself at top."

"Why do you treat her so badly?" I asked. "She's your niece, isn't she?"

Jane smiled. "This is work. It's not a family reunion."

"It doesn't matter whether it's work or not. She's not shit."

"She's okay but she's not very defensive." Jane said. "Now, we have no other choice but to release it, right?"

I nodded.

I stood quiet for a few minutes as Jane did some work before I spoke up. "I have a request."

"What is that, Elliana?"

"I want to go see my brother." I said.

Colton's eyes widened as Jane sighed. "Elliana," she rubbed her eyes. "you know why we can't let you do that."

"Yes, I know that but I don't want to talk to him on the phone." I said. "That's just too indirect."

"Maybe another time."

"He's my brother." I said. "And we can create a diversion for the paps if it makes you feel any better."

"How can we do that?" She asked.

"We can find a girl and a guy who look exactly like Colton and I, and they can take one vehicle with some bodyguards, of course, and that way, when the paps follow them thinking they're us, we make our great escape."

"It's too much of a risk. No." She said. "And why would Colton be coming along?"

I looked towards Colton pleading him to go with the plan with the look on my face. "Well," he said. "Brendan was one of my best friends."

Bullshit.

"Would his management even be on the same page?" She asked.

"Well, I don't know the answer to that but..." Colton droned on.

Jane closed her eyes and breathed in and out before composing herself. "Let me talk to his manager and I'll call you if he says anything."

We nodded.

"So can we go now?" I asked.

"Yes, you may."

"Thank you."

Colton and I left hurriedly as Colton grasped my left hand in his right. The atmosphere surrounding the volume of that office was getting to tense and we wanted to make this visit terse.
