California is portrayed by Holland Roden. Honestly, Holland Roden is one of my inspirations. She's queen.

"Ellie!" She shouted as I stood up. "I have missed you!" She wrapped her arms around me, hugging me, smiling as I hugged her back.

"Aww, I have missed you too." I said. "What are you doing here? How did you pass security?" I asked.

As I looked around, Colton and Mason were gone.

"I told them I was family and showed them ID." She said.

I really need to update my staff.

"Where's Uncle Darren and Aunt Jess?" I asked, peering over her shoulder. "They're here with you, right?"

She stood and looked down. "No."

"Where are they, then?"

"In M-n-s-a."

"I'm sorry. Where?" I asked.

"In Minnesota." She said.

"What are you doing here?" I asked. "They wouldn't just let you run off like that!"

"I ran off." She said.

"Why? What happened?" I asked.

"I don't know." She said. "I just felt really misunderstood and I needed to talk to you and I really don't know." She ran her right hand through her ginger locks of hair.

"Well, I can help you but I'm going to need to call them. They're probably building up with anxiety right now."

She nodded. "I understand." She looked down a bit before looking back up at me. "But can I spend some time with you?" She asked.

Her eyes were wide.

California held this spark of hope in her eyes and a smile that would be grateful for anything as long as she got the one thing she hoped for.

"I'll ask." I said. "If it makes you feel better, I don't mind if you do."

A small smile crept on her face and in a few seconds, it was made more noticeable.

"I have a photoshoot tomorrow just so you know." I said. "I want you to come."

California had this obsession with make-up.

She experimented with every known make-up product she could possibly find.

She made me seem like an amateur.

Despite living in a small town in Minnesota, California managed to find products that you wouldn't normally find in a small town.

Then again, I'd drive her to the bigger towns or cities there.

We'd listen to The 1975, One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer, and songs that just meant something to us or songs that made us want to get up off our asses and do something with our lives.

"Like they're going to get you ready with make-up and wardrobe, then they're going to take photos? Right?" She asked.

"Right."

Her facial expressions gave off the look that you knew she just received a life-changing experience.

She's seeing makeup artists do what she loves best.

"That primer and eyeshadow is your perfect shade." California said. "Can I practice on you when we get home?"

California's hazel eyes brightened as she took in my makeup artist, Christina, applying eyeshadow and primer.

"Can you teach me?" California asked Christina.
