Part 19

NICOLE'S P.O.V

I looked at it in shock, peering down at Chandler every now and then.

His nose was dripping crimson liquid as he patted it with his shirt sleeve. His perfect light pink lips were smeared with blood. I starred up at the top of the staircase. Felix was looking down at me in disbelief. My mom was leaning against the beam by the farthest wall, busted lip. Chuckling.

I stood up from beside Chandler and walked up the stairs. I felt as if smoke was blowing out of my ears by now.

I moved Felix out of the way, coming nose to nose with my mom.

"You coward..." I spat with my jaw clenched.

"Don't call me that!" She said, sticking her finger in my face. I smacked it away, the anger growing even more.

I pointed towards Chandler, the bottle, the car.

"YOURE DRUNK!" I screamed at her. She stumbled back a bit, shocked by my tone.

"Like that matters..." She breathed heavily, wiping her mouth. I could smell the alcohol slide off her tongue as she spoke.

"I'm leaving..." I said with a stern face.

"You can't leave. I make decisions for you. I'm your mother!"

"Not anymore." I turned my back, into my room. I took a duffle bag out of my closet, packed it with clothes, blankets, everything I needed.

"Where do you think you're going?!?!" She screamed.

"Chandler's...." I said, not even looking at her.

"Wait!" Felix yelled, running down the stairs toward me. He wrapped his arms around me, crying into my shoulder. I never knew someone as tough as him could cry this much.

"Where am I supposed to go?" He asked, sniffling.

"I'll figure something out." I gave him a weak smile.

I helped Chandler up, then looked out the open door. Pitch darkness, all except the car headlights beaming through.

"Come on, Chandler." I said, looking over at him as he nodded.

"YOU CANT JUST LEAVE! THATS IMPOSSIBLE!"

I turned slowly towards her, bowing as if I was a magician who just performed his best trick yet.

"I guess I just did the impossible."
