Summary: daniel and y/n slow dance in the living room lol

The silence of the night was broken by the occasional barking of faraway dogs and the blazing of distant cars on the slippery roads. The young couple came rushing in as Daniel swung open the front door. They shared giddy laughter and cheerful conversation about the events beforehand and slipped their shoes off to put them near the front door side by side.

The gaping curtains let rays of artificial light of streetlamps gleam through the dark house. Daniel's freezing fingertips grazed the skin beneath her black shirt. He teasingly tugged at her soaked coat and snaked his arms around her waist from behind. His chin rested on her shoulder.

"What are you doing?" She giggled, squirming in his gentle hold. Daniel giggled too, the coolness of his breath tickled Y/n's skin and she shrieked with laughter. He peppered kisses along her shoulder and up her neck while his fingers tickled her sides. He lifted his head, revealing his ruffled hair and eyes that sparkled with nothing but adoration for the girl in front of him.

"Let's get these clothes off you." He said cheekily as he calmed down. He gradually jerked down her leather jacket, but Y/n stopped him.

"Dani," She sent him a teasing glare. He faltered under her solemn stare and his face broke out into a Nike swoosh of a smirk.

"Not like that, you silly...I just don't want you getting sick." He assured. He pulled off her jacket and rubbed lovingly up and down her back. "Make yourself at home...I'll get you some warm clothes, okay?"

Okay." Y/n replied. She watched him press a final kiss to her forehead and fade up the stairs.

The summer night fell quickly. The dark blue sky only fostered a few stars that scattered

around the moon. Y/n grabbed the throw blanket from the edge of the sectional and draped it over her body as she lay down. Her tired eyes were already fighting sleep and she let them close under the serenity of Daniel's quiet home. Moments later, after Y/n heard the rumble of the dyer stop, Daniel crouched down beside her. He linked his hand in hers from under the blanket.

"Baby," He started, leaning down to kiss her lips a few more times. Y/n sighed pleasantly and rested her arms around his shoulders, savouring the warmth of his clothes. He pulled back and tossed the blanket off her body. "C'mon."

She pushed herself up and took the warm clusters of clothes from him. "Blehh." She groaned, earning a chuckle from Daniel. He let his eyes linger on her as she headed into the small bathroom.

After a few quiet minutes, Y/n came strolling out of the half bathroom to meet Daniel's loving gaze. Various candles stood in a line on the edge of the coffee table and encircled the small space between the couch and the T.V. Daniel's blue eyes still sparkled as bright as the candles around him in the dim light and Y/n could still sense the love that radiated off him even if she was a few paces away.

"What's all this for?" Y/n said gingerly as she approached him. She paid close attention to the vase of flowers that were set on the dining table with the light blue table runner underneath. Daniel couldn't help but eye her up and down in his oversized t-shirt and sweatpants. He giggled sweetly, pulling her flush against his body.

"You look..." He leaned back gently to look again, "so cute in my clothes." Y/n dropped her head in slight embarrassment and smacked Daniel's shoulder.

"Stop it, will you?" She said jokingly, tightening her grip around his broad shoulders. Daniel hummed gently as they swayed. The sound of the summer breeze blended into the background, along with the distant cars and ever so silent creaking of floorboards underfoot.

"Hey, google," He pulled back from her just a little and turned to glance at the Google Home that sat on one of the small coffee tables.

"Play the most romantic song." Daniel finished with a hidden smirk. He felt the slight vibration of Y/n giggling and rubbed circles upon her back warm heartedly. As expected, Google obliged with the usual friendly tone. The tune of Fallin came on, rising in volume gradually.

Daniel stood confused as he heard the familiar sound of drums resound through the living room.

He scratched his head and between embarrassed giggles, he said. "Uh, um...I..I think Google's glitching."

Y/n, on the other hand, was giggling against his body. She stole a couple cheeky glances at her boyfriend until she met the gaze of an annoyed Daniel.

"That's what you get for being so-"

Daniel narrowed his eyes towards her. "There better be a good ending to that sentence Y/n"

"So cute," Y/n replied seriously.

Daniel smiled even though his small plan failed, and he pulled Y/n's body back gently. "Well at least Google has good taste," he chuckled. "I'll be right back." He pressed a kiss to her forehead.

Daniel slipped past his girlfriend and went over to the Google Home and made sure it was playing the song he wanted it to play the first time. Your Song by Elton John started as Daniel walked back over to Y/n and slung his arms around her waist again.

Her face softened as she rested her head tiredly on his shoulder and whispered against the shell of his ear.

"I could do this forever," She mumbled.

Daniel turned to look at her. He only caught a glimpse of her hair but pressed a strong kiss to the same spot, nevertheless.

"We should do this more often," he responded.

"Yeah, we should." Y/n said quietly.

The young couple shared the simple moment together with the low volume of Daniel's Google Home playing in the background and the warm hues of the candles filling the room with calm scents.
