a/n: i tried my best with this... really hope you enjoy!

Summary: While you and Jonah are on a date at a café, some of his fans go up and say hi to the both of you.

Jonah sat at one of the soft, comfy sofas, casually tapping his fingers on the armrest to his right. Colourful smudges of different umbrellas moving along the pavements and crossings guided his eyes from each side of the large glass paned exterior of the coffee shop as he tried to find you in the rainy, outside crowd. Your pre ordered coffee cup sat on the table, a small drizzle of steam wafting upwards with a fresh aroma of coffee beans.

Jonah felt and heard your presence before he saw you. The cold breeze of early winter sweeping gently across his face and the jingle of the bell upon the entrance door had him turning towards you. A smile peeked at the corners of his chapped lips, and he sat up straighter as the pair of you locked eyes for a second. Your hands snaked out of your pockets, and you rubbed them together for some warmth before tugging off your coat. You kept the hood of Jonah's borrowed sweater over your head and made your way to one of the more intimate little spaces of the café where he sat.

"I missed you," He greeted, already leaning his body towards you as you took the seat beside him.

"I missed my coffee," You joked, glancing down at the steaming cup in front of you. You bit back your smile as you saw Jonah's face fall into a fake pout from the corner of your eye, "and I missed you too of course." You assured lightly. You pressed your hand to his cheek and welcomed his lips onto yours for a kiss. Jonah leaned into your touch even though your palms seemed colder than ever, and he gave you another kiss in your affectionate moment of close proximity.

It was always nice to have simple dates during the day. Nothing too formal or fancy, especially amidst your busy life schedules. Jonah almost craved a single day where he didn't have to work and that came courtesy of his other bandmates going up to Mammoth for a snowboarding trip. He chose to stay in L.A with you, not a morsel of regret grazing his mind.

The gloomy weather outside dimmed the lighting in the café. But inside, the energy was anything but gloomy. The coffee shop was wrapped up in the scents of brunch and fresh coffee and tea, and chatter was lively as a flurry of people sought warmth on an unusually cold day in L.A.

You and Jonah naturally talked and enjoyed every minute of your date together, undisturbed by the presence of others...and that included the two girls, whom you later discovered were fans, standing a good distance behind you two. To-go coffee cups were in hand and peppy whispers were exchanged between them at the fact that their idol, Jonah Marais, was right there. Their gazes found you...the mysterious girl cuddled up to him deemed his girlfriend.

It was a known fact among the Why Don't We fandom that Jonah indeed had a girlfriend. Every once and a while he couldn't help himself and would post pictures of the two of you two, but the only catch was that his fans never saw your beautiful face. Jonah liked to compliment you and say that no one would ever be able to handle your beauty, but the fact was simple; you still wanted to keep an element of privacy. Jonah didn't mind at all.

The pair of fans were so eager to properly greet Jonah that their nervousness soon faded away. The surrealness of being in the same location as him begged them to go up and say hello and the possibility of getting to see you was unbearably exciting, literally pulling their feet towards the occupied sofa where you both conversed. They waited almost silently before one of the girls nudged the other to speak first.

"Hey," The greeting came out way shakier than they would've liked, and they cringed for a split second before Jonah turned around. Although you definitely heard them, you kept your back faced to them, dropping your gaze to your cup of half-filled brewed coffee timidly.

Jonah loved meeting his fans. There was never a time where he found snapping a quick picture or giving a hug annoying and that was shown once again by the way his lips upturned at the sight of them. Your heart was always bursting with pride every time you saw people coming up and saying hi.

"Hey guys! How are you?" In what felt like just a second, Jonah was wrapping his arms around the both of them for a tight embrace. You couldn't keep your smile in anymore and you turned towards them shyly, your forearm leaning on the back cushions as you watched the endearing interaction.

You could hardly decipher what those two girls were saying exactly as their voices were still quiet with the lingering nervousness of the whole event, but then you heard what seemed to be a gasp. You jerked your head to the sound and your gaze fell upon one of the girls. They stood right in front of you, open mouthed and wide eyed. At first you guessed there was something on your face, or maybe your sweater, but the answer you received was way sweeter than you imagined.

"You're so pretty! Oh gosh!" She pressed her palm over her mouth for a moment and turned back to her friend. "Isn't she so pretty!" She turned back towards you, the big grin stretching across her face instantly warming your heart.

"Your kids are going to be so beautiful!" She blurted out. She stopped herself from speaking with a tight hand pressed to her mouth, and the colour on her cheeks reddened with each ounce of quiet weighing over the small group. The other girl seemed just as embarrassed and she slapped her hand to her face, peeking through a gap between her fingers to still see your expression. The comment took you and Jonah by surprise but the pure intentions behind her words made you both giggle and smile in the moment of slight awkwardness.

As if to not say something wrong, the next words were slow and deliberate, "I mean, if you two have kids obviously...and if you don't that's completely fine-"

"Hey, don't worry, it's totally fine. You two are the sweetest." You said casually yet honestly, and Jonah agreed with a gentle smile.

Jonah invited them to sit on the sofa across from yours, and soon, you felt yourself becoming more relaxed. It was sort of a strange having two new pairs if eyes on you after staying quite anonymous on social media for so long. But with Jonah's hand clutching yours, a hot cup of coffee and the snug material of his sweater hugging your skin, it was hard to not feel comfortable and calm. Photos were taken, some smiles were shared and soon, goodbyes were said as the fans thanked you and Jonah profusely before heading back to their own spot in the busy coffee shop.

"They were so cute," you said softly. Jonah lolled his head back, sinking deeper into the comfort of the sofa with a huff. "Are they always that sweet to you?" You asked, reaching your arm out to slide across his shoulders and pull him into you.

He tugged down the hoodie still draped over your head and kissed the side of your head. "Yep. They're the best."
