Summary: Y/n surprised Corbyn after not seeing him for almost 2 years due to covid.

11:49pm, 3 September 2021

The sky was covered with a thick blanket of navy blue, and the moon smiled down at the pair of friends as they walked from the driveway to the house. The Seavey's place, as usual. At this hour, the atmosphere was quiet - the only thing heard outside was the wheels of Y/n's suitcases scraping the concrete while they rolled towards the front door.

"Thanks for picking me up again, Daniel." Y/n muttered softly, turning towards the tired boy beside her. Daniel closed the door behind him with a hand grasped tightly enough to barely make a sound. The puppy sleeping on the couch across from them and the oblivious boy on the other end of the house had them sliding off their shoes and rolling in Y/n's suitcases carefully.

"Of course," Daniel let a subtle smile play on his lips, his voice was hoarse and slightly strained as he'd been awake since early that morning. "I couldn't have let you get a taxi on your way here. Corbyn would've killed me." He chuckled tiredly. "And all this stuff wouldn't have fit." He added light-heartedly, looking down at all of Y/n's things now grouped together near the foyer.

"Mhm," Y/n giggled and pulled a smile. She let it drop seconds later at the thought of Corbyn hearing them talk close by. "Is Corbyn here?" She whispered sharply, shifting her gaze in every direction until her boyfriend was spotted through the back door and past the studio piano, sitting behind the desk and utterly hypnotised by the bright screen glaring back at him. His worn-out fingers typed and clicked relentlessly as he perfected that one verse - ignoring Daniel's words of advice to wait til the morning. Y/n grinned at the sight of him.

"Well," He glanced at her. "Are you going to go hug him, or should I?" He asked.

"Y-yeah!" She stumbled out, padding across the living room towards the neon lit studio without a look back. The cold air stinging against her skin made her wince slightly and she locked her arms over her chest as she walked across the concrete. With a final simple gaze through the window, Y/n realised how much she missed this place. And the sight of her boyfriend doing something he's so passionate about, he even abandoned sleep over it. L.A gave her this sense of warmth and love that she couldn't get back in her hometown. After all, with Corbyn by her side, what else could she ever need?

"Daniel, I've got this really cool-" Corbyn glanced towards the door...once and then twice as he noticed who was actually there. "Y/n," he breathed. He pushed the chair back from the desk with a shrill screech and trudged towards the door. Y/n barely noticed how far her joyful smile stretched across her face until Corbyn's thumb brushed over her soft lips.

His own smile flickered in her gaze for a second before he pulled her into a kiss that halted all her thoughts and hauled her back into that comforting moment. Their lips greeted each other's with mirrored passion and desire they'd been holding in for months. And the craving for the other's warmth and touch subdued in the space between them while they shared silent kisses. The sound of the vocals from the computer singing sweetly had melted into the background and the couple let out low groans and huffs as their lips parted and met quickly. Their hold on each other deepened and tightened with every warm kiss.

"When did you get here?" Corbyn pulled back and caressed Y/n's cheeks in his hands. His words fell between them almost silently and Y/n looked up at him timidly, unable to wipe that endearing smirk off her face.

"I came straight from the airport." She mumbled, pulling his arms around her waist for a hug. She buried her grin into Corbyn's neck and the tip of her red nose was cold against his skin, making him laugh at the slight tickle.

"I haven't seen you in so long!" He rocked them both slowly on the heels of his feet.

"I know," The pace of her breaths fell into step with the beating of their hearts.

"How long are you staying?"

"For a while." Y/n admitted shyly.

"You mean just a while, or a while while?" Corbyn looked at Y/n with nervous eyes, his voice still floaty from the overwhelming shock.

Y/n chuckled. "I'm going to move here." She cuddled into him and let her gaze wander the quiet studio she knew so well. Everything was exactly the way it was when she left. Daniel's guitar placed against the wall. The music sheets leaning messily on the stand. And even Corbyn's little song scrawled on a piece of scrap paper peeking through the slightly open desk drawer.

"What? When? Where?" He rushed out, shaking Y/n's shoulders light-heartedly.

"I still have to find a place, and I might move in with some roommates, but I'm going to be living here from now on."

"Oh my gosh," He furrowed his brows in irritation. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming! I could've arranged something for you," He huffed, forcing his frown to stay on his lips. Y/n merely laughed, tracing her fingers up and down his arms soothingly.

"I missed you, you silly goose." Y/n said. She tugged at his sleeves to pull herself up and give him another well needed kiss.

"I missed you more." He replied gently, leaning in to savour the rest of the night with his girlfriend.
