a/n: hey! I'm not quite sure about this one so let me know what you think! Thanks to the wonderful person who requested. hope you enjoy:)

Summary: Y/n attends her relative's wedding and she brings Daniel along. While the couple have their first dance, Daniel thinks about his and Y/n's future wedding - inspired by by James Arthur.

The first dance. The most awaited and special moment of a wedding, happening right before Daniel's eyes. Any nervousness or tension drained out of the atmosphere, leaving pure love and unity to blossom between the two lovers as the guests watched quietly from their tables. Clinks of champagne glasses and clattering of expensive tableware halted almost instantly as the song started. Gentle vocals gracefully weaved through the luxurious place as people watched on. The wedding venue was bursting at the seams with relatives and friends that had been invited, all wearing formal attire dyed with summery shades. To Daniel, it almost felt as though the moment was a part of their romance film - everyone stood as sheer background characters to the lead pair of newlyweds in the centre of the marble dancefloor. He hoped Y/n and Daniel could make a movie of their own someday.

The chandelier above dangled with diamonds and cast a pearly glow to the dancefloor and a bright spotlight moved with the pair of individuals as they danced, swaying gently, and taking a few small steps at a time. Daniel was sat at one of the closer tables to the dancefloor, one arm leaning on the edge of the table-top while the other habitually found its way over Y/n's shoulders. The amount of love that was visible from a fair distance away was mesmerising to him, and Daniel just knew there must've been so much more love and adoration etched in their relationship that no one could ever really comprehend. At least that's what he knew about his own.

The sight was like a look into his life to come, a crystal ball scrying his future and showing him what could be his reality one day. Though, his true present and future, sat next to him. Y/n's gaze was on the slow dancing couple just like most of the guests. Her bright eyes twinkled in the light of aromatic candles strewn around their table and her scarlet manicured hands sat in her lap. Daniel turned to her and reached over to hold her hand, fingers sliding across her palms to intertwine their fingers. Y/n's calm expression faltered into an innocent smile, and she giggled at the fact that any simple touch of Daniel's always made her heart sink deeper in love.

Time moved slowly as the ribbon of wedding songs progressed. While others were invited onto the dance floor by their partners or loved ones, Daniel let his wandering gaze rest on the circular band on the fingers of both partners. Their silver rings sparkled relentlessly under the warm light. Again, Daniel's mind went to the brand-new symbol of undying love he'd dreamt of putting on Y/n's left finger one day. He averted his gaze to her. She was taking a sip of her champagne; wisps of hair fell from her up-do to the sides of her face.

"Love," He started, ocean eyes softening and hands tightening to remind her he was there. "Do you want to go dance?"

Y/n turned to him, and with a beaming smile she said, "I'd love to." Daniel led them towards the dancefloor seamlessly. His dress shoes clicked against the marble and the high heels upon Y/n's feet did the same. "Can we go slow?" She asked. "I just.... can't dance." She admitted, lips parting as she giggled with slight embarrassment.

"Of course," Daniel smiled. He slid his hands out of hers and around her waist, pulling her into him as he did so. Y/n let her toothy grin drop into a subtle upturn of a smile as they swayed. She let her mind slow down to synchronise with the faint rhythm of the music floating through the speakers. Daniel did the same, merely tracing his fingers sweetly across Y/n's lower back with his chin resting above her forehead. Delicate hues of summer roses floated by as they danced, from light blues to dusky reds. Y/n being one of the bridesmaids, wore one of the four dresses that was coloured an elegant lavender. But of course, in Daniel's eyes there couldn't have been a prettier girl within its seams.

"What're you thinking about?" Y/n chuckled, taking notice of the lingering quiet between them.

"Just about us. In the future." Daniel murmured. "What about you?"

"I'm thinking of us too."
