Chapter 39:
Olivia's POV:
My eyes fluttered open to a blinding light. Where was I? Oh, right. I'm in my room. I sat up in the bed that I shared with AJ only to be greeted by silence. Where is everyone?
I felt under my pillow for my phone. Once my fingers came in contact with the plastic cover, I pulled it out and checked the time. 10:20. Shit! I was seriously late for school. But if I was supposed to go, why didn't anyone wake me?
I clicked the app for my contacts a quickly found AJ's number. I pulled up a text for her knowing she was most likely in class right now.
Hey, why didn't you guys wake me up for school today?
I pressed the send button and watched the little loading bar head across the screen. I pressed the back button to see all of my text messages. I saw three blue dots indicating I had three unread messages. One from Andrew (or Drew), one from Claire, and one from Harry.
I opened the one from Claire first and read over it. It was basically her explaining that she and Marisa's father were going to meet relatives out of town today. So she wasn't going to be back until two days. She also told me to feel better. I scrunched up my eyebrows in confusion while reading this. I felt fine. I sent her a quick reply saying that I understood and thank you when in reality, I didn't know why I would feel bad. I shook that off and opened my message from Drew next.
Hey little sister! What, just because you're in England means you're too cool to talk to us now? :'( I get it. Well, you need to Skype me as soon as you read this because I have some big news:D
Um, okay? At least that message actually makes sense compared to other things that he texts me. I swear I love him but he's ridiculous. I decided not to Skype him just yet since I did just wake up. I closed that text and smiled reading over Harry's name.
After what happened yesterday, I can confirm my feelings for him. I like him a lot more than just friends. Once we kissed, I felt all of these emotions flutter me. Everything felt perfect. Once he told me he's always wanted to do that, I felt ecstatic, but then I remembered Nathan. He made me feel like that at one point. I couldn't let myself get hurt again.
Harry must have read my mind or something because he kept assuring me he would never treat me like that. And I believed him. Right now, I want more than anything to see him. Which lead me back to the text I got from him.
Hello, love:) AJ told me that you aren't feeling so well, as well as asking me questions about yesterday;) I hope you feel better and I can't wait to see your beautiful self later.<3
I blushed after reading his message. He really is a charmer. I mentally scoffed and shook my head. Harry is hilarious in different ways I can't explain. I decided not to reply to his text yet when I received a new one from AJ.
This morning, I was about to wake you up when I felt your neck and you were literally burning!! Marisa and I convinced Claire to let you stay home. Plus, you need extra rest from your extra activities yesterday;) see you later!
I felt my neck which obviously was fine. Whatever she felt was gone now. I could have just been warm. Oh well. Might as well embrace this wonderful day alone. I swung my legs over the side of the bed while tossing my phone aside. I stood up on my feet and shuffled towards my suitcase. I grabbed some lounging clothes and made my way towards the bathroom.
On the way there, I bumped my hip into the side of the dresser really hard. That's going to leave a bruise. I groaned in pain and my eyes widened at the sound of my voice. It was quiet and a little raspy. Maybe I did have something wrong with me.
