Chapter 21:
Olivia's POV:
"Bitch! Get up now," I heard a voice scream. I moaned and buried my face into my pillow. Even though I couldn't breathe I did not want to get up. I'd rather die.
Someone sighed, then the pillow slid from under my face. I groaned in frustration and curled into a tight ball. "Leave me alone," I whined. "No, we are late for school. Now get up!" AJ smacked me in the face with my pillow repeatedly.
I ignored her but it eventually got to the point where it stung. "ALRIGHT!" I shouted at her and she smirked. Her hair was wet which means she probably just showered. She had a towel wrapped around her bodyy, but our door was closed so it was fine.
"Get up. We are already late," she shoved me towards the bathroom. I glanced at the clock and gasped. 7:35?! First period starts at 7:55. I muttered some curse words and practically dove into the warm, shower water. Once I finished myself off, I stepped out the shower and looked at my phone. 7:45, shit.
I stepped out into the cold air of the bathroom. I quickly dried my hair the best I could with a towel and wrapped it around my body. I opened the door and walked to my still unpacked suitcase. I pulled out a grey sweatshirt and put on a pair of shorts with half of the English flag faded onto one side. I grabbed a pair of grey vans and ran outside to the car to meet Marisa and AJ in it, waiting for me.
I slid in the backseat and put on my shoes and a dream catcher necklace I managed to grab on my way out. "Took you long enough," Marisa pulled out the driveway. I shot her a glare but she was too focused on the driveway to see. "Want me to do your hair?" AJ asked. I nodded since she was in the backseat with me. "Do what you do," I chuckled.
My hair was still wavy from curling it yesterday. I felt AJ's hands twist through the top part of my hair for a few minutes while Marisa drove. "Done," AJ finished tugging on my hair and admired her work. I traced the back of my head with my fingers. She did the hipster waterfall braid. "Thanks," I smiled at her as we pulled into the school's parking lot.
Harry's POV:
I was sitting in first period next to Zayn and an empty seat. I haven't seen Olivia, Marisa, or AJ all morning. Maybe they were just running late. I continued working on this handout but the words were just blurs. I couldn't keep my mind off the unoccupied desk to my left.
I sighed and pulled out my phone from under the table. 8:04. What was keeping them up? Maybe they ditched. If they did they should have told us. We would have gone with them.
The classroom door opened and in stepped the girl I was waiting to see. She looked amazing, as always, and out of breath. Her eyes scanned the classroom then stopped on me. I smiled at her and she gave me a small smile back.
"Nice of you to finally join us. We missed you," Mrs. Johnson told Olivia with sarcasm dripping from her mouth. Olivia furrowed her eyebrows at her and smirked. "Someone's on their period," she muttered causing everyone to laugh. She walked towards her seat and sat down next to me.
"Hey," I grinned. "Hey," she greeted back. "Come get your worksheet," the teacher huffed. Olivia groaned and stood up. She shuffled to the front of the classroom and snatched up the paper. "Now was that so hard?" she teacher pouted. What was her problem today?
"Yes. You could've handed me the paper before I walked all the way over there," Olivia shot back, obviously not in a good mood today. "Sit down and get to work!" Mrs. Johnson instructed. Olivia bowed causing all of the students to laugh, and made her way back to her seat.
"Why are you so late?" I asked her. "Woke up late I guess. AJ smacked me in the face with my pillow until I got up, hence the bad mood," she answered. I nodded and we got to work on the classwork.
After a while, I gave up. I put my pen down and groaned. Olivia looked at me with a confused face and I shrugged. "I'm bored," I complained and she chuckled. "Too bad you can't do anything about that," she laughed. "Might as well sleep," I thought aloud. "Mrs. Johnson won't yell at you?" Olivia asked. I shrugged again.
"Maybe if I fall asleep, and you do too, then you can say you slept with me," I teased. The blonde girl smirked up at me. "You would like that huh?" she joked back. I simply smiled and winked.
"Harry Styles. Olivia Camp. Care to share with the class what you two are talking about during silent time?" Mrs. Johnson smirked at us. "Tractors." "Spandex." We said at the same time. I looked at her and she laughed. "Tractors wearing spandex," she 'clarified' and the class laughed. "Whatever," the teacher murmured.
"Spandex?" she asked me and I shrugged. "I panicked," I told her and she laughed. "You are weird," she teased me. The teacher was probably fed up with our talking by now. And, it looks like I was right.
"Detention today for both of you," the teacher shouted at us. I shrugged while Olivia shot me an apologetic glance. I shook my head and the bell rang. I grabbed my books and met her outside the classroom.
"I'm sorry," she told me. "Why would you be sorry?" I raised my eyebrows at her. "I don't know," she smiled sheepishly. "You don't have to be sorry. Plus, I get to spend more time with you in detention," I nudged her. She rolled her blue eyes and dragged me to our PE classrooms.
"I'll see you in a bit, yeah? I think we're going outside today," I told her. "Don't think so," she motioned to a window at the end of the hallway. It exposed the pouring rain outside. "We'll see then," I shrugged and gave her a small hug.
Would it be wrong to say I love the way her body melted into mine? Her hugs were sweet and soft. It made me look forward to saying goodbye to her. I kissed her cheek and departed her to go into my room. Before I left I saw her blush.
I sat at my normal spot at the back of the classroom. "Are you going out with Olivia?" a boy, Trey, asked me. I shook my head and waited for the teacher to come into the room. "Good. She's fit," he smirked and I shot him daggers. I felt the same way I did when the Raising Cane's cashier flirted with her. I clenched my fists under the table until my knuckles turned white.
"Good morning class. Since it is raining outside, we will be heading into the cafeteria. Feel free to play games, talk, or do whatever fits in the rules," Coach Robillard told us. We grabbed our bags and headed out the door. I followed the class into the cafeteria.
My eyes looked over the cafeteria for Olivia. I just really wanted to get to her before Trey could say anything. I don't want her falling for a jerk like him.
I spotted her blonde hair on a table in the back. I walked over to the table to see her intensely staring at her cards. She was in what looked like a poker game with another student. "What's this?" I sat in a free seat next to her. "Poker, I'm about to kick this kid's ass," Olivia smiled at me before drawing another card from the pile. The other boy scoffed. "You wish," he smirked. "Want to bet? $30," Olivia challenged before realizing what she said. "Oh, uh, £30?" she fixed her sentence. The other boy shook her outstretched and continued the game.
I tried to watch while their match got more intense. Some other students crowded to watch. Olivia laid her cards down in front of her and so did the boy. They looked at each others hand and made different expressions. The boy looked defeated while Olivia cheered. "€30?" she held out her hand and he put money into it. She smirked and faced me. "Let's go," she grabbed my hand and pulled me from the table.
