Chapter 59:
Harry's POV:
"You're so nasty," I whined as Louis attempted to throw another spoon full of crusty pasta at me, generous of the school's cafeteria. It landed on the floor between my converse and Olivia's boots in an orange and brown lump. Both of our feet instinctively moved away and glared at Lou who loaded another spoon.
Today, so far, has been interesting. It'd be fair to say that Louis and I have both gotten a fair amount of attention from the girls in this school, not to brag. We were simply British guys (which America is currently obsessed over our country for some reason) who are a new target for girls. I once thought that way, but a man has to grow some balls at one point or another.
Once third period ended, Louis and I followed the flow of people to the cafeteria where we planned to eat, but then caught sight of the food. Some people exaggerate school lunches, but this was just ridiculous. Bread is not supposed to be fuzzy, vegetable are not supposed to have discolored areas, and milk is definitely not supposed to taste like that.
AJ met us in the overflowing cafeteria (which now had to hold the British students as well) and we managed to snag some empty chairs near each other. Bad news: they weren't at the same tables, and there were only four.
We fixed the chairs into a square, all facing an empty middle. I took one for myself and Louis offered to share a seat with AJ. She didn't sit on his lap though, but they each took half. Chase, surprisingly, walked over to our group and took a seat of his own. I was expecting him to sit with his old friends that he introduced us to earlier.
"We have next period together," Olivia told me, handed me back my schedule, and made a face.
"Aw, if you think I'm bad then you're going to hate when I tell you Chase and Louis will be there as well," I smirked. She feigned a look of terror before cracking herself up and laughing. I just looked at her like the idiot she is. But the good kind.
"Louis," Marisa shouted in disbelief as his ammo actually landed on her jeans.
He raised his arms in front of him as if she was about to hit him. "I'm sorry! I didn't think it'd actually hit you," he cowered back. AJ smirked when he tried to maneuver his body behind hers.
Marisa groaned as she brushed the lump of food off her knee with a napkin, nearly hitting Chase's shoe. "Really, guys? A food fight on the first day back?" he crinkled his nose and crossed his arms. Louis shrugged and returned to his normal position.
"That's all Marisa there. She needs to stop throwing her food around," he snorted.
In one swift move, Marisa was out the chair and ready to attack Lou, who tried to protect himself with AJ again. The rest of us laughed as a girlish squeal left his mouth. My laugh was interrupted when Marisa brought her hand back and smacked him on this thigh. Hard. It was one of those girly slaps that sting really badly and leave a bright red mark. The slap that all boys fear but never admit.
I sucked air in through my teeth, and Chase and I shared a knowing look. Lou bit his bottom lip, refusing to show how much the slap hurt like all guys do.
Even Olivia cringed next to me, watching Marisa smile victoriously at Louis. "Ouch," AJ muttered, peering at Louis' thigh. He held up his shorts, giving us a view of the forming hand mark on his skin.
"Girl slaps are the worst," Chase whispered to me, and I nodded in agreement.
Olivia smirked over at us. "Heard that," she pointed out, settling back now that she had the full chair to herself. She shared it with Marisa after declining to sit in my lap.
