Chapter 56:

Harry's POV:

"Your call has been forwarded to-" I grunted, shutting off my phone before I could hear the ending of the electronic voice. That's at least the fifteenth time Olivia had ignored my calls. In fact, all of the girls were shunning me. They must have known I would try Louis' and Chase's phones as well because they're being ignored as well. Why are girls so smart?

I groaned, running my hand through my hair and dragging it down my face. "That was the stupidest idea ever," I pointed out, glaring at the two boys. "What? You asked for help and we helped you," Louis argued. I turned back to my phone, rolling my eyes and dialing my girlfriend's number once again.

"Remind me to never again come to the two of you for help," I spoke over the sound of the phone ringing in my ear. "I'll even make a reminder on my phone," Chase smirked. Somehow the two of them found this whole situation hilarious.

I hated this. I hated the fact that Olivia's ignoring me because I took some idiotic advice yesterday that I thought would help me. Well it did, but not in the way I would have expected it to.

The morning of our flight to California, Mum told me we had to have a serious talk. I didn't understand at first because she asked me simple questions on how the foreign exchange student program was going and stuff like that. Once her questions started steering more towards Olivia than anything, that's when I became to get skeptical.

She asked me how serious we were. I didn't know how to answer her question. Olivia and I weren't that serious, but she was special. She wasn't another girl just to throw on the side. Mum gave me a sympathetic smile when I couldn't answer her question.

"I like her a lot," she told me.

"I like her too."

"Then what are you going to do when you come back home to Holmes Chapel and leave her behind?"

That hit me like a ton of bricks. I never really thought about that. I was more of the type of guy to live in the moment than to think about the future. "What?" was the only possible answer I could give to her. My head was clouding with too many possibilities.

"Harry, I just want you to think about this. Of course Olivia is a wonderful girl, and I haven't seen you this... committed in a long time, but will the distance be too difficult? I support your relationship 100%, but I just want you both to do what will be best for the two of you," Mum sighed.

I sat with her in silence as we thought through it. What would happen between the two of us. I like Olivia a lot, but in the end will this all be worth it?

I picture all the times I've been with Olivia this past few weeks. I seem so much happier and outgoing when I'm with her. She has this special charm to her that you can't help but smile when talking to her.

"I guess we will know what's best for the both of us as these next few weeks progress. Then I'll know for sure," was my answer to her. She and my whole family supported my decision, obviously because they adored Olivia. But I still thought about the topic.

The past few days I would think about it. The possibilities were endless. My dream was that Olivia and I would end up really close and she'd somehow come back home with me to England, but that was a big fantasy.

Wednesday while eating lunch with the boys, I decided why not get another opinion. That was a big mistake. After ranting onto them about my feelings, there were a few serious suggestions in between their teasing and jokes.

"My opinion is to just ignore her for a day. Don't talk to her. Don't speak about her. Don't even think about her for a whole day. Then you'll know what you feel," is what Chase suggested. At the time it seemed like a good idea.

"Am I supposed to feel either sad or that I can mange or..?" I asked them. "You'll know what you feel," Louis answered with a pat on my shoulder. The plan was pretty easy at first until the girls dragged us into a day of exploring the town. I was excited to finally go out, but there was no way I could avoid Olivia easily.

Now we were at this point, where Chase and Louis battled at FIFA and I continued to spam the girls' phones. I know how I feel about yesterday. I feel awful. Not because I missed Olivia, but I left her helpless. I could tell she was upset that I was ignoring her. Every time she would try to start a conversation I would pretend I didn't hear or would walk away. I was mad at myself for making her feel that way.

Then there was the smoothie incident. I was furious and knew damn well what that little prick was doing to my girlfriend, but Louis told me to stay put. "She can handle herself," he assured me.

Now I was desperate to get in contact with Olivia. I would explain to her the situation of yesterday only if necessary, but I just wanted to talk to her. I wanted to make sure that she knew I was no longer ignoring her. But she must considering all the spamming I've done to her phone. She must really be pissed.

"Yo, why don't you take a break and grab a controller," Chase announced while still focusing on the screen. I sighed. "No, I really have to talk to Olivia," I replied. He shrugged mindlessly and it was Louis' turn to talk. "Maybe she just lost her phone... or its dead," he attempted. "I doubt all three of their phones are dead," I chuckled flatly.

I clicked the home button on my phone. No missed texts or calls. It's almost 3 and I've been trying to contact her all day. An idea popped into my head but I decided against getting the boys' opinions. We all know how well that worked last time.

I strolled barefoot out of the bedroom and down the hall to Chase's 14-year old sister's room. I know I'm lame for this, but she's a girl and should know what girls think. I knocked on the light pink door lightly. It only took a second for footsteps to approach and the door to swing open.

Amber stared at me in confusion. "Harry?" she asked and I awkwardly smiled. "Hey, so I just, uh, need to ask you a quick question," I told her. She leaned against her door frame and crossed her arms. "Why me?"

"Because you're a... girl and you should know, uh, girl... things," I scratched at the back of my neck. Amber laughed lightly. "Shoot," she answered. From the few days of knowing Chase's family (consisting of his parents and two little sisters: Amber and the baby Cece), they all seem pretty cool. I'm surprised with how mature Amber actually is. She isn't annoying or pushy like most girls her age that I know.

I explained my situation to her as quickly as I possible could because the sooner I got my answer the better. Amber sighed and shook her head at me. "Why are boys such idiots? Don't ever take advice from Chase and Louis again," I was scolded. I smiled, holding my arms up in defense. "Already done," I laughed.

Amber thought for a second then smiled. "The best thing to do would be to talk to her, but she's not answering your calls so that might be a problem," she told me. "So can I, like, go see her or something?" I questioned. Amber thought it over before nodding.

"But do you know where she is?" the girl asked. I knew she was at AJ's house, but I didn't remember the address or how to get there from the drive yesterday. I sighed, shaking my head. "I'm sure Chase would know," she admitted. I thanked her, her smiling before she shut the door and went back to doing whatever kind of horror 14-year old girls do.

I quickly made my way back into Chase's bedroom where I found he and Louis exactly how I left them. "Where does AJ live?" I asked immediately. "Uh, I don't know. The address is in a text I got from her," the boy shrugged.

I found the text in a matter of seconds and copied the information onto my arm. "I'm taking your car," I announced, hoping that having him distracted would prevent him from saying no. "Yeah, whatever," he shrugged.

Smirking, I gathered his car keys and bolted down the hallway. I practically sprinted through the front door and to the car sitting in the driveway. Unlocking it, I sat inside and stupidly realized I was on the wrong side. "American... cars..." I grumbled while struggling to hop over the middle seat and into the driving seat. Why didn't I just go around to the other side, I'm not sure.

Finally starting up the car, I was able to safely back down the driveway and begin my journey to the written address on my hand. My thumbs tapped against the steering wheel as I tried to think of what I was going to say to her. One thing for sure was that I needed to get her alone.

While driving, I began studying the small buildings I passed. One looked quite decent; it was a small coffee shop that's transparent, glass front allowed me to see the almost deserted interior. I made a mental note of its location then continued on my route.

A few minutes later I was pulling up outside the familiar home, jogging up the front porch, and knocking on the door. A tall woman answered, her features closely resembling AJ's. "May I help you?" she asked politely. "Ah, yes. I'm looking for Olivia Camp?" I told her. "May I ask who you are?" she nodded her head. "My name's Harry Styles," I answered.

A younger boy who looked to be around Amber's age showed from behind the woman, then disappeared quickly. "Oh, so you're the boyfriend?" she cheered. I smiled, nodding my head at the ground. "Well come on in. You can go upstairs and see her, but I have to warn you that they may be upset because of you spoiling their girls' day," she warned me. "I'll take my chances," I said making her chuckle.

AJ's mother lead me to the staircase and instructed me on which room the girls were in. I quickly upped the stairs, two at a time, until I reached the top. Passing a closed door with rap music coming from behind it, I found the room I was told was the right one.

Knocking, I heard them talk behind it. "If it's Mom then come in! But if its Caleb then leave us alone!" AJ's voice shouted. "What if its neither?" I asked, slight humor tracing my voice. Their was a pause before the door swung open to reveal Marisa standing in front of me. Behind her the other two girls sat facing the Tv.

"It's a girl day," Marisa used as an excuse. I looked over at Olivia who stared back at me. Her face held confusion, excitement, and sadly anger. But she had every right to be mad at me. I downright ignored everything she told me.

"Not right now. I'm taking Olivia on a date," I blurted. I mentally smacked myself. I wasn't considering it a date until now. Now I needed to make it seem more special than just to talk about yesterday. "You now decide you want to talk to me," she crossed her arms over her chest accusingly.

I bit my lip and nodded. "I know you're mad at me and I can explain what happened yesterday, but please come with me," I prayed she wouldn't argue and would just come along. "You can't ruin our girl's day!" AJ scolded me. Great, it's three against ome.

"It's for a great cause," I smiled. The three of them stared at me as if they were debating whether to burn or bury my body after they murder me. Okay, today I learned a very important lesson: Never mess with girl's day.

"No," Olivia answered flatly. My jaw dropped as the other two girls snickered. "No?" I asked. "No," she clarified. I didn't blame her though. I took a few steps further into the room until I stopped in front of where she sat. I knew what I had to do to convince her to go with me.

I dropped down to my knees and put my hands in a praying position. "Please, please go on a date with me," I pleaded. "I thought they were already dating," a young boy's voice interrupted from behind me. We all focused at AJ's doorway where the younger boy from earlier stood. "Go away," AJ cursed, throwing a pillow in his direction. He shrugged, bolting from the door leaving us alone again.

Getting back to business, I looked up at Olivia. "Please?" I asked and threw the face. "Oh hell no," Marisa shot at me while AJ groaned. They may be able to stand it, but I know Olivia couldn't. The puppy dog face gets her every time.

I could slowly feel her melting into my stare. This was working perfectly. That was until AJ smacked her hand over Olivia's eyes. "No! Don't fall for it!" she screamed. I slowly stood upwards, sliding onto the bed next to Olivia while resisting Marisa who was pulling me from behind. "Pleaaaase," I whined childishly, snaking my arms towards the blonde.

"Harry," she stated firmly. I smirked, my hands grabbing onto her arm and attempting to play tug-o-war with AJ. "Olivia," I mocked sweetly. She pulled her arm out of my grip and I frowned. "I'm not going with you," she answered strictly.

Her now uncovered eyes glared back at me. I pulled the puppy dog face again and made sure that she kept looking at me. I don't understand why this works so well on girls, but I'm glad for it. "I don't know," she sighed. "Come on! I want to talk to you," I whined. "You could've talk to me yesterday," she smiled sarcastically.

I sighed, running my hand through my hair. "I know, and I'm really sorry about that. Come with me and I'll explain everything to you," I promised. I knew she wanted to agree (probably to find out about yesterday) but she still looked to the other two girls for confirmation. "You have two hours, Styles," Marisa glared.

My eyes widened. "How is a date only two hours?" I protested. "Two hours and that's it," AJ agreed. I groaned and stood up, holding out a hand for Olivia to help her up. She rejected my hand, crawling off the bed on her own. "Ohh!" both girls cried while Olivia smirked at me evilly. "Rejected!" AJ laughed.

I sighed motioning for Olivia to exit the room before me. You know, ladies first and stuff. "I have to change though," she told me, looking down at her outfit. She wore a pair of black shorts with a red and white baseball shirt. Her hair was tied into a messy ponytail and she had no makeup on, yet she still looked beautiful as ever. "You look beautiful. You don't need to change," I replied.

I ignored the other two girls while watching a blush spread on Olivia's cheeks. "Lets go," she interrupted, wrapping her smaller hand around my wrist and dragging me into the hallway. Once near the front door, her hand dropped mine making me frown.

I led Olivia to Chase'a car and being the gentleman I am, I held the door open for her. She mumbled a quiet "thanks" and climbed inside. I took my own place in the driver's seat and began towards the coffee shop I saw on the way.

Sighing, I tried to think of any topic to start a conversation with Olivia. She obviously wasn't making an attempt to talk to me as she stared out the window. I looked towards her hand to grab with my own but it sat in her lap and out of reach.

The silence ended as I parked in the lot of Cherries's Cafe. I quickly shot out my door and rounded the car to open Olivia's door for her. She only quickly thanked me and observed the cafe. "I hope this is alright. I mean, if you want-" she started laughing, cutting me off. "Andrew got food poisoning here once," she smiled. "Then should we go somewhere else?" I suggested making her shrugged. "I don't know. They have really good coffee though," she replied, stepping towards the glass door.

I smiled that she was finally talking to me more or less. Now the only obstacle left standing in the way is making sure that I don't say anything on this date that'll ruin it.

The door jingled as we entered, and a petite, old woman greeted us and told us to sit as we liked. Soft music played overhead through the cafe, adding to its atmosphere. Small cupcakes, cakes, and cookies lined a counter at the left end of the room, along with other drink making machines behind it. Only three other stranger sat inside, all alone.

I pulled Olivia towards a table right next to the glass front, giving us a view of the cloudy street outside. She watched through the window while I thought of how to apologize to her. I know I sort of did before, but that wasn't genuine and she most likely wants an explanation.

I opened my mouth and barley made a sound before we were interrupted. "Can I get you two anything to drink?" the same woman who greeted us asked. "Two coffees," Olivia answered with a polite smile. I raised an eyebrow at her, but shrugged anyways. "Also two cokes and a milk," I added. Olivia looked at me weirdly this time but I brushed it off. The woman wrote down our drink on her notepad and handed us both a menu before scurrying off.

"Are you hungry?" I asked her and she shrugged. "Not really," she answered. I set my menu aside and watched her study her own. "Listen," I paused, getting her attention. Her blue eyes looked at me and her facial expression told me she was waiting with anticipation. "Yes?" she asked, teasing me (and not in the good way).

"About yesterday, I just wanted to say that I am really, really sorry," I told her. She raised her eyebrows and waited for me to continue. "It was a stupid idea that the boys gave me and it sounded good at the time, but now I feel like shit and-" "What idea?" She cut me off.
