Chapter 60:

Olivia's POV:

"Oh my gosh, Mr. Ray!" I squealed, hugging my math teacher unnecessarily tight. I smirked against his hideous tie of dogs riding skateboards. He was known for these ties.

"What?" he asked in shock, holding his arms in the air. He grunted and attempted to push me off once, I guess, he recognized who I was. "Olivia," he stated simply, but his eyes showed a whole other side to him. Mr. Ray glared distastefully at me, and I could tell he was already quite unhappy to see me.

"Oh, Mr. Ray, you should've gone to England with us! It was amazing!" I smiled, taking the desk in the front, also closest to his. I could see him pleading with his face for me not to sit there.

"I would've, but that would've meant spending more time with you," he smiled sarcastically, and I faked a laugh.

"Oh, Mr. Ray. You haven't changed, not one bit," my smirk widened as everyone settled for class.

"Neither have you, Miss Camp," he spun to face his ancient chalkboard, but not before I saw him roll his eyes.

You see, Mr. Ray and I have a very special bond. I aggravate him, and he pretends to hate me when I know he loves me. Even though it may not seem like it now, I can already picture him smiling and giving me a huge hug on the last day of school.

"Welcome to Calculus. For all of you temporary students, my name is Mr. Ray," my teacher announced and wrote his name behind him with messy handwriting. Off to the far left of the board were the letters 'E-Q-U' that I had accidentally written with a black marker. I had forgotten that he was the only teacher in the school who still used a chalkboard, so when I went to write the word 'equation' I wrote in marker before realizing what I was doing. I got detention for a week, which was idiotic.

"So, did everyone enjoy their time in England?" he asked, turning to face the class. I spun around too, looking to the group of kids. The class grew about 10 people because of the new temporary students. Everyone announced their answers, some murmering and others saying a ridiculous answer loudly making others laugh.

"My name's Louis!" my friend's familiar voice announced from the back of class. I laughed at him along with other students as he smiled innocently at our teacher. I hadn't even noticed him come in. I glanced around to see if any of the others were in class.

Don't get me wrong, basically everyone I know in this school I consider my friend. Like I said a while ago, I'm usually nice to everyone. But these past weeks my amount of absolute best friends that I'd take a bullet for increased from one (obviously AJ) to eight.

I don't know many people who can consider this many people to be their best friends. I doesn't matter how long you've know them, but the connection and way you act towards them matters. I knew AJ was my perfect other half from the first memory I remember of the two of us playing with a frog in my backyard as babies.

"Olivia!" Louis shouted across the classroom and waved.

"Hi, Louis," I called back and waved as well.

Mr. Ray sighed, backing up towards the chalkboard and leaning his back against it. "I can already tell you'll be a lot to deal with," he muttered to himself, but I heard.

If only he knew how much of a hassle Louis really was. "Before we begin class, I would like to explain to all of you new students the classroom rules," Mr. Ray announced, multiple groans sounding afterwards. I looked to the window on my left that he covered with a poster of classroom rules. I would complain about the view blockage since we were on the second story of the school and a park was right next door, but the poster kept the sun off my face, which was great.
