Zekaj had noticed that his mate in his arms was rather quiet. With the bond healing, Zekaj couldn't try to pry his way into his mate's head and hear his thoughts. Hunter had a habit of letting his thoughts run free back when the bond was at its max strength.

"You alright?" Zekaj asked his mate, who was staring at the passing walls.

"Yeah," Hunter whispered.

As they got to the grand door to the dining room, Hunter knew he recognized it but his memory was still fuzzy.

"Can you set me down?" Hunter asked.

Zekaj carefully set Hunter down on his feet.

"Do I look alright?" He asked, checking himself out.

Hunter tried to mess with his hair but it was truly out of control and too long for his liking. He wanted to look his best for his mate's parents.

They were royal demons for crying out loud. He couldn't walk in there looking like he got hit by a bus.

"You always look nice to me," Zekaj smiled.

"Zekaj I'm meeting your parents, I need to look my best."

Zekaj raised an eyebrow and rolled his eyes.

"Hunter, they already love you and understand the effects a broken bond, of our level, can have on a human. They aren't expecting you to look perfect." Zekaj kissed Hunter and ruffled his hair.

"And you look perfectly fine to me too," Zekaj winked.

Offering his hand, Zekaj stretched it out towards Hunter. Instead of just grabbing his hand, Hunter hugged his whole arm and tried to hide behind Zekaj as much as he could.

Zekaj smiled when his human hid behind him. It was nice that his human still trusted him with protecting him.

Pushing the doors open with one hand, Zekaj led the two into the grand dining hall.

Hunter looked over from behind Zekaj and could see the grand architecture and design. A gigantic golden-diamond chandelier hung from the ceiling and wall sconces were strung about the walls.

At the far end was a family portrait and Hunter all too well noticed the four familiar faces.

From left to right, Zekai, Caroline, Aegon, and Zekaj sat posed together for the photo. The three men looked stern while Caroline herself was smiling slightly. Zekaj looked to be around maybe 15 in human years but it was hard to tell. He was more muscular than most humans ever are when he was only 15.

Hunter looked on and could see Zekaj's parents sitting at the far end of the table and with every step they took, Hunter's feet felt heavier and heavier. It was almost like Zekaj was just dragging him along.

"Ah Zekaj, how was your rest?" Caroline said from the end of the table.

Neither of his parents needed to look up to see who was coming as the sound of Zekaj's footsteps was all they needed. While Zekai's steps were loud as well, they were not as loud as the almost stomping Zekaj did.

Hunter's footsteps went by unnoticed. They failed to even notice him until Aegon looked up and saw the arms wrapped around his son's forearm.

"Hunter's up," Aegon said, to his wife. Relief flooded his body knowing that his son's soulmate was alright.

Caroline looked up from her papers and her eyes widened when she saw the human peaking around from behind Zekaj.

"Hunter!" Caroline stepped out from her chair and walked over to the two standing there.
