Lia's POV
Beep beep beep
There goes my alarm clock. I sluggishly hit the alarm, making the noise stop. Time to get up and get to class. I stood and decided to go with a baby blue puff sleeve croptop, a white pleated skirt and some white running shoes.
I quickly finished packing my backpack and walked out to see Aliya and Jamie ready to go.
"Let's go!"
I smiled and walked out the door. They followed me.
"I've got history first, you?"
A: "Math."
J: "Science."
I rolled my eyes. Damn it. I was gonna be stuck with Musa and Elias alone.
J: "Hey don't worry about it."
I smiled
"I'm not, I swear."
I split up with them when we reached the History classroom. I sat down in an empty desk at the back. Then the teacher walked in.
Teacher: "Alright, we've got a new project about the battle of Culloden. You'll be working in pairs, and will make a paper about the battle. And, before you ask, I will be picking partners."
I sighed. Of course.
Teacher: "Musa and Elias, Alexa and Carrie.. Josh and... Lia..."
I looked around for this 'Josh.' A few seconds later, a tall tanned boy with black hair and dark blue highlights was standing in front of me.
???: "Are you Lia?"
I nodded.
???: "Well looks like we're gonna be working together. I'm Josh."
I smiled.
"Nice to meet you, Josh."
Josh: "You too."
He sat down beside me and we began our research. Time went on and I found myself enjoying his presence. Y'know what? I don't even care anymore. Maybe I like him, maybe I don't. Then, the bell rang.
Josh: "Hey, do you wanna work on this after school later?"
"Oh- uh sure."
Dear lord. This is going to be a repeat of last time, isn't it.
Josh: "Kay, my dorm is 49f."
Gosh, that was far from mine. Y'know what? It's fine.
"Alright."
I gathered my bag and left. God, please let this actually work out.
----------------------------------------After school----------------------------------------
I decided I'd just go straight to Josh's dorm. Aliya and Jamie would understand, I needed to get this work done. I finally reached the 49 section and searched for 49f. What the? It only goes up to 49e and then it goes into the 50's section.. Did he set me up? I sighed. Of course he did. Nothing every goes right-
Josh: "Lia?"
"Oh hey, I can't find your dorm."
Josh: "Yeah I was going to find you, I meant 49e. Sorry!"
I smiled. Phew, he didn't set me up.
"Oh okay."
I entered 49e and followed him into his room. We sat down at his desk and continued our research.
"Wow, those soldiers were brave. They dove straight into musket and canyon fire. Those poor scots didn't have a chance, but yet they still fought."
Josh: "I know right?"
I wrote something down on my notepad.
"Okay well, I should get going."
Josh: "Okay, I'll cya around."
I smiled and nodded. I picked up my bag and began walking back to my dorm. I reached my dorm and entered. I didn't bother going to Aliya since I knew she'd probably lash out at me or scold me for hanging out with another boy. Jamie would probably just be concerned, and I didn't really feeling like making anyone worried. I walked into my room and decided to watch a movie by my self for once.
--------------------------------------1 hour later--------------------------------------
Good lord that was a good movie. I felt mildly guilty for not saying anything to Jamie or Aliya, so I'll just quickly say goodnight. I walked out of my room and into Jamie's room. I saw him admiring his new clothes he'd mostly likely gotten a few days ago.
"Hey Jamie."
J: "Oh hey! Where've you been?"
"I was working on a history project with a boy from my class."
J: "Lia, maybe you should take a-"
"Break from boys? I know. But, I needed to get the work done."
J: "Okay, fine that's fair."
"Okay good we agreed, anyways I think I'm going to hit the hay. Goodnight!"
J: "Night love."
He smiled and so did I. I walked out of this room and into Aliya's.
A: "What?"
"I.. um, just came to say goodnight."
A: "Cool. Night, where have you been all day?"
"I've been working on a project with a boy from my class."
A: "Of course, whatever I don't care anymore."
"What did I even do?"
She sighed. I don't know why she's mad at me. I get she's confused but, why take it out on me?
A: "Nothing. It's not your fault. I-I'm just confused."
"Oh. Okay, it's alright."
I offered a smile and walked back into my room. I don't know why, but it feels like Aliya's slipping away. She was like a sister to me, but recently she's been distant. I shrugged and tucked myself into bed. I closed my eyes and drifted into sleep.
