ASSESSMENTS ALREADY?

aizawa's orders weren't questioned and each student followed them hastily, rushing to the changing rooms to get their training uniforms on and rushing outside to prepare for what was to come.

within the sea of her classmates, y/n found her eyes scanning the crowd for kirishima as she felt more comfortable accompanied by a familiar face. but as a subject of her new found bad luck she spotted him beside her new found enemy, which put her off approaching the friendly redhead completely.

she decided to bite the bullet and approach another classmate, reaching her hand out to tap on a shoulder. "hey." she called as she waited for them to turn around.

he flinched at the surprising contact as he turned round, heart fluttering as he met her bright eyes. "h-hi...how can I help you?"

"would you mind walking with me?" she requested sweetly, a smile plastered on her lips while she stifled a giggle at the boy's awkwardness. "please."

"oh..o-of, of course!" he registered what she had said and his facial expression changed to a gleaming smile, nodding profusely to which she laughed and stood beside him as they walked. A blush had managed to stain his cheeks with the girl's company.

"i'm y/n l/n." she reached her hand over to shake his as they moved, she watched him have to take a second to register her words once more, his nervousness of meeting new people evident. "and you are?"

"izuku, izuku midoriya." he extended his own hand, which was warm with a clear sheen of sweat he had just rubbed on his trouser leg. "wait...y/n l/n? you're the one that came first in the practice exam."

y/n nodded as they shook hands, a smile at her new recognition within the class due to her high placement. "I am indeed."

"you- you drew with kacchan-"

before he could continue a strong force pushed through them both, breaking their handshake and barging their shoulders rudely, neither of them had to look to know who it was. " stupid deku, shut it you nerd." he raged, scowling at them both over his shoulder. "and quit calling me that."

y/n glanced at the blonde before looking back at izuku, " you know that guy?" they both looked back at bakugo once more. " why did he call you deku, midoriya?"

 the green haired boy looked at the ground with what looked like shame as they walked, " I've known him my whole life, practically grew up together." he started, running y/n through a brief description of his childhood,  to the bulling he endured up until attending UA. "once he realised I wasn't manifesting a quirk, the bullying got so much worse, that's when he gave me the nickname deku, and I haven't been able to shake it since."

y/n rubbed his back sympathetically, a sad smile forming on her face as she looked at him. "all these things he got away with when you were younger won't slide in UA midoriya, he will have to buck up his ideas or else he will get himself thrown out."

although the boy listened to y/n's reassuring words, they weren't enough to keep him off edge, it was the same thing his mother had said throughout elementary and middle school and yet it never stopped. however he nodded at his classmate with a thanks not wanting to come across ungrateful and rude for her attempt. 

the mood quickly shifted as a large arm wrapped itself around y/n's neck in one swift motion, taking her completely by surprise and made the pair jump. she looked up to see a familiar, shark tooth smile, he body visibly un-tensing as she returned his grin. 

"hello kirishima." she greeted, happy to be in the redheads company once more, even so without the moody blonde that accompanied him earlier. 

he seemed to be one of the most social students in the class, having been comfortable with what looked to be most of his classmates already. something anyone would be utterly stupid not to envy. his face practically screamed, hey! if you're feeling lonely, i'm your guy!

"and midoriya! hey man." y/n also failed to notice his other arm wrapped around the smaller boys neck too, the boys smiling at each other and midoriya clearly comfortable in his presence too. y/n took a second to question herself how he had managed to become best friends with every member of class 1-a within the fifteen minutes they had in the classroom.

"are you both excited to finally put your quirks to the test and show the class what you can do?" he spoke as if he was a personal trainer, his voice laced with a motivational tone. a football coach talking his team up before a big game.

both noted with a small smile at his words, "that's what I like to see!" his voice boomed off the walls as he tapped the two firmly on the back. It was slightly harder than normal, but not enough for it to hurt.

he looked onward as saw another classmate he was familiar with, calling out, "hey kaminari!" slipping his arms from behind the pair and chasing yet another blonde that walked the hallway in front of them. "you excited man!"

the two couldn't help but stare at the boy who had joined and left them too soon, too lost in admiration to notice the presence slowly approaching them from behind. "hi!" a soft voice called, the two snapping their necks towards them both. " I'm ochaco uraraka." y/n smiled and waited for midoriya to go first with the introductions, but soon came to regret it after remembering how easily flustered he can be.

"hi, i'm y/n l/n." y/n returned the introduction, waving briefly before they both turned towards the green haired boy who's previously light pink blush had become fully blown bright red covering his face. "I'm-i'm izuku...izuku midoriya." y/n couldn't help but giggle friendly at his shyness once more, now joined by uraraka. "thank you...for earlier."

"i'm the one that should be thanking you!" she beamed, her smile almost contagious. the two couldn't keep their eyes off each other as the newly introduced girls cheeks also becoming a light shade of pink as they continued to talk. y/n took this as an opportunity to leave them too it, inching away.
