both students pushed off their heels and charge towards the other, y/n immediately looking for a chance to catch his eyes in hers while he looked for an opening to attack.

the crowd cheering was only muffled to the competitors, having no interest in hearing anyone shouting their name in that moment.

both students got dangerously close. y/n was about to reach for the boy's attacking hand, the skin on skin giving her an immediate win, but was shocked to see gloves? is that even allowed?

y/n's wings sprung from her back the instant she saw the additional cover on bakugo's hands. the crowd gasped at the sudden sight of two angelic white wings emerging from in between the girl's shoulder blades.

at that same moment, the boy sent an explosion. he would have hoped to catch her more off guard with the gloves. to give himself a bigger explosion window.

with her wings keeping her up in the air, bakugo stopped to look at her. avoid the eyes for now. his thoughts were loud and clear, that's all he had to do.

"surprised?" he chuckled in a low tone. she was angered for a moment, a clear frown on her face.

but the look soon disappeared, replaced with a sly smirk. "does little bakugo need extra's to beat little old me?" she teased, shaking her head, "tch, tch, tch."

surprisingly, bakugo didn't get angry at her words. another low chuckle emitting from his mouth instead. "of course."

bakugo being sarcastic?

"oh bakugo." she cooed, "i really thought you were going to give me this win."

he scoffed. although he knew she was only trying to wind him up, or even get any show of emotion from him. it was as if the roles were starting to switch, and he didn't know whether he liked it or not.

y/n on the other hand hated it.

she hadn't realised how much bakugo getting riled up actually entertained her, especially knowing she was the cause of his anger.

"come on bakugo, where has your anger gone?"

y/n wanted the fight to be over quickly. but in the back of her mind, she couldn't help but want to get a rise out of the boy first. she needed to.

it had taken a lot of will power for bakugo to keep his emotions sealed, not allowing himself to reveal even the slightest bit of anger at her words. he had the upper hand.

"given up?"

his hand quickly aimed itself towards her, an explosion sending off without him even having to think.

this action took y/n off guard, finally snapping her back to the reality she belonged in. since when did i care so much about getting him angry? she shuddered at the thought, not letting her mind linger on it for any longer.

the uniform covering y/n's left calf had burt off, her leg now visable due to the hole. the warmth she felt from the grazed leg didn't effect her, no blood poured. yet. bakugo smiled to himself, knowing he was going to win.

but y/n had ideas of her own.

the crowds roaring cheers and screams were now becoming clearer. the shouting of class 1-a being the loudest and most distinct.

the louder it got the more it edged both competitors on. neither cared for the attention of the millions of strangers watching, but times were now changing.

beating him would be even better now, especially after he claimed he'd win in his speech.

i'd love to fucking wipe the floor with her right now, finally get the girl to step down.
