Her body felt like lead, her consciousness barely there. It was slowly regaining strength though, as her senses became more tangible. She couldn't see a thing despite her eyes being open and a strange yet familiar aroma wafted through the air. It was dead silent however a presence lingered nearby. She couldn't move her limbs, even when she eventually did gain back her full consciousness.
She was tied up.
She wriggled slightly, now aware of the fact that she was blindfolded and tied down to some sort of object. A chair, most likely. It was when she started moving did the eerie silence come to a stop, the voice of a well-known man coming to her ears.
"Ah, I see you're finally awake."
Nagito Komaeda.
She whimpered, knowing of the male's insane nature and deluded actions. Especially just after the last trial for Nekomaru. He laughed dryly at her reaction, his footsteps echoing through the room as he got closer to her. Her heart thudded in her chest and her body trembled in fear, terrified that this may be her last moments. She felt his hand snake around her neck and travel slowly, teasingly, up to the knot of her blindfold and pulling it harshly, removing the obstruction from her vision. She looked up at the white-haired boy, a sickening grin etched onto his face.
"Good evening, (Y/N)." The way he spoke sent shudders down her spine, his words dripping with venom.
She wondered what she had done for him to turn so suddenly on him, since they had been good friends since the beginning of this whole ordeal. His grin never left his face while he eyed up her features, his eyes swirling with emotions clashing in them.
"..." (Y/N) couldn't find the words.
"Cat got your tongue?" Nagito teased, letting a giggle slip from his lips. "You're probably wondering why I've brought you here, right?"
She scanned her surroundings, realising she was actually inside of his cabin, cottage, whatever you want to call it. The curtains were drawn shut and there was even an extra lock on the door, much to (Y/N)'s alarm. She let out a shaky breath and nodded in response to his statement.
"Well, I suppose I can enlighten you with such information." Nagito shrugged, taking a step back. "So, are you going to tell me who you really are or are you going to keep lying to my face?"
(Y/N) froze up, eyes widening and palms becoming sweaty. How on earth did he even find out about who she really was? Her lips quivered slightly but she remembered Makoto's words;

'You can't let them know. We can't risk them falling into despair again.'

She shook her head, feigning confusion.
"I don't know what you're talking about. I'm (Y/N), I'm the ultimate (Y/T). That's all there is to me." She lied, voice meek.
Nagito grimaced slightly bringing up a hand to his head and sighing.
"Jeez... I thought you'd be a bit more compliant than that but well, I guess it's not a problem. It's only understandable you wouldn't want to share such information with trash like me." Nagito folded his arms across his chest and looked deep in thought. "It seems I'll just have to force it out of you."
(Y/N) gulped at his words, feeling her anxiety bubble up even further. Nagito took a few steps back into his room, heading to his bookshelf. His finger skimmed along the spine of each book and eventually stopped at a particular, black file. He brought it out carefully with his long, slim fingers, opening the book and flipping through the pages.
"Ah, there we go." He hummed, walking back over to the tied up brunette. "Recognise this?"
He turned the book around and presented it to her face, (Y/N) reading the words on the page. So this is how he found out...

CLASS 77-B STUDENT #17
(Y/N), THE ULTIMATE (Y/T)
TOPIC: ULTIMATE DESPAIR

(Y/N) was the anomaly from the class of 77-B, somehow managing to escape Junko's brainwashing and not joining Ultimate Despair like the rest of her classmates. Her exact words were 'it's going to take a lot more than that to make me give into despair.'
Instead she went to a path of hope, aiding the 78th class during the killing game and eventually joining the Future Foundation with the survivors. Her, along with the survivors of the first killing game, were dubbed the 'Ultimate Hope' by those not infected with despair. They set out to retrieve the remnants of despair and enlist them into a special virtual program to undo their brainwashing from Junko Enoshima.
She agreed to enter the hope restoration for the remnants of despair, promising to implant hope back into everyone of her classmates and return to the life they once had and acting as a secondary observer in case of any malfunction with Alter Ego.
