Chapter 14

Nanatiling tahimik si Cedric at hindi na niya namalayan ang oras. Pag-angat niya ng tingin ay madilim na ulit ang paligid at wala na si Valerie sa kanyang tabi. Nagising na pala siya.

Malungkot pa rin siya ngunit mas naramdaman niya ito nang mag-isa na lang siya. Hindi niya maipaliwanag ang kanyang nararamdaman. Magulo ang kanyang isip. Higit sa lahat, dumagdag pa lalo ang kanyang mga katanungan na wala namang mga kasagutan. This became more confusing. Akala niya ay simpleng napunta lang siya sa panaginip ni Valerie, ngunit hindi nagtutugma ang kanyang pagkamatay sa lahat.

If he is really dead, everything doesn't make sense.

He recall the exact scenario before he went into Valerie's dream. None of those shows that he got into an injury or an accident, he was just peacefully going into his home. Unless his mind is playing tricks on him into thinking that he is alive and just randomly went to the girl's dream. But no, he clearly remembers everything. He cannot die. He cannot possibly die.

Then his thoughts before resurfaced again. Noong pinakita sa panaginip ni Valerie na magkasama ang kanilang magulang, bago iyon ay pinakitang nakabangga niya si Cedric, in which he didn't experience, which is odd.

He remembered that Valerie once told him about parallel universe. Considering this odd situation that is happening right now, it might have something to do with it.

He once read in school that parallel universe is the result of the choices you made in the original universe. For example, there are two options in a scenario and you have to choose one. The other one which you didn't pick will result in creating a new universe which is parallel to your universe. Then it will have a continuation which is entirely out of your hand because they also have thoughts, wills, and options in which could create another universe.

So if both of them are from different universe, what happened to the Cedric in Valerie's universe? He is dead. That might explains why he is still alive (or as he remembers that way). Ngunit sigurado siya na may koneksyon dito ang pagpunta niya sa panaginip ni Valerie.

The difference from their timelines is Cedric didn't encounter anything on his way home. He also didn't know about his mother's relationship with her ex-lover. He thought they were just friends, as her mother introduced Valerie's father to him as a friend only on the day before he got stuck here.

Recalling Valerie's dream on that same day before he got stuck here, Valerie bumped onto him and muttered his mother's name which is why he ran to their house to see his mother hugging Valerie's father. Then he got into an accident right after he ran away from their house, based on what he heard on Valerie's thoughts when she remember on her last dream that she stalked his social media account.

Even if he's dead in Valerie's world, he's still alive in his world. There's no problem with that, unless the people in both universe are connected. The question is why did he went to her dream? Assuming the time he died on his world is also the same time he went to her dream, that probably means that something in his world is not right. If the two Cedric are connected, does that means he also died in his world? Did he die when he fainted in his room and woke up inside Valerie's dream? So he's really dead?

Another question, anong koneksyon dito ni Valerie? Aside from the fact that their parents were ex-lovers but now they are together, that's just it. Does she have something to do with this? Can she really help him? Or was her purpose is to help him? What if he's just a lost soul wandering in Valerie's dream, and her only purpose is to set him free, how will she do it?

If one of the choices results in creating a parallel universe, what are the choices that happened? Is it when Valerie bumped onto Cedric on his way home? On Cedric's world, he didn't bumped into someone, but he knew he passed by many people that time since he was walking in a busy street, although he cannot remember all of them, he knows for sure that one of them must be Valerie. Kung sa mundo ni Valerie ay nabunggo niya si Cedric, sa mundo naman ng lalaki ay nalampasan lang siya nito.

Which means the factor that created his universe is when Valerie bumped onto him or not. That's also the factor when he overheard what she said, finding out about their parents, which is their another connection. So Valerie is connected to him in some ways because she is the one who created his universe based on her actions.

With all of these questions running in his mind, he cannot handle all of it, especially when he didn't know if his conclusions are right. What if all of his theories are wrong all this time? It could lead to more problems.

He heaved a sigh then closed his eyes. He cleared all of his thoughts and went to zero.

Pagkatapos ay idinilat na niya ang kanyang mga mata at tumingin ulit sa kawalan.

He looked back on his main purpose, his main problem, his main question:

How will he get out of here?

Then he closed his eyes again and gathered all of his theories, but this time, instead of becoming more confused, he starts to see its point and began to connect them one by one.

At last, he reached a conclusion. Although it may seem impossible, it is the only way he knew to answer his question. As Sherlock Holmes said, "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth." Well, that doesn't apply to his situation right now. The fact that he's stuck in a dream is impossible to happen in real life. So this time, he went to the most probable conclusion. Eliminating all of his other what-ifs, he hopes this one is the right thing to do.

He don't know if this will work, is it possible to happen at all? Nevertheless, he shake off the thought and proceed to his conclusion.

So if he wanted to be alive, they must go back through time to prevent making the choice that caused his death, thus destroying his universe.

I'm sorry if I failed to explain it correctly and neatly but I tried my best to explain it in an easy way T^T.
