“nope, it isnt nearly as good as being sacrificed at the ripe old age of almost 10” catherine says
“you know, i don't think anything can beat that” carci says
“I'm sorry its what?” jon asks
“oh when i was at the orphanage some gothic, emo kids in bath robes tried to sacrifice me in pig latin i think they may have succeeded? i don't really know cause i was high on a lack of sleep and confusion. then again some guy showed up in suit then again he could have been a staff member”
“oh you met lucifer” joan says
“y-y-yeh huh?” carci says
“lucifer?” joan asks
“i don't know why i'm surprised” carci says
“i'm surprised you were even listening for this long” Catherine says from her wall of jenga block
“... touche” carci says
“anyway about you joan? any traumatic experiences?” carci asks
“no unlike you two” joan says
“i don't know what else i expected”
“me neither”
there's another clap of thunder and joan jumped.
“you are super jumpy” catherine says
“yeah well mom and Alex have a behind closed doors meeting with the pantheon… well now and i dont want to know what the weather means for them or zeus’s mood” she says
“whats the worst he can do?” catherine asks intending to be positive
“he could easily disintegrate them into dust if he was in the right mood or mind set” joan says
“oh” both twins say glancing at each other
they knew very little about real world greek gods and/or how much truth actually layed in the greek myths. they could only assume that Joan’s parents would not survive the business end of zeus’s wrath if it ended up coming to that. both girls held back their usual response of a probably really rather inappropriate joke or snarky comment. joan frowned at their silence. then her gaze seemed to go through them as she tilted her head. The twins followed her line of sight. outside the window was a cloudy figure of a teenage girl. she looked about 16
“how common are ghosts?” catherine asks
“surprisingly rare” joan says
“she looks 16. why does she look 16?” carci asks
“she may have aged as a ghost?” joan offer
