The girls went into their cabin begrudgingly.Carci hung upside from the bunk and Catherine was laying on the bed watching Carci throw a ball at the ceiling and catching it. As kids trickled in. Some were doing there own thing and a couple where watching Carci throw a ball
“How long have you been doing that?” a kid asked, breaking the silence.
“ I dunno.” She says
“Huh”
“She’ll be going for a while longer,” Catherine says.
“So she does this often?’’
“Yeah” Catherine said
“When she is bored and has nothing better to do” She adds.
“I finished everything interesting to read on the bus ride and I have nothing better to do.” Says Carci
“How long does it take you to finish a book?”
“Eh. I dunno, but I can finish it quickly if I'm interested in it.” Carci said
“What are your names?”
“Carci”
“Catherine”
“Im Rose” A girl on a different bunk says
“Mallory” A girl reading says
“Kira” Said the girl who asked
“Terrisa but everyone calls me Terri”
“Savanna”
“Cassie”
“Wow. Like a domino effect, but with names.” Carci says
“Oh yeah knock all the names down.” said Catherine
“Yeah don't fall victim to the domino effect, it could lead to name loss.” Carci said.
“Ah yes, name loss. My grandpa has name loss.” Catherine says.
Carci laughed quietly
“What?” Kira asks
“Name loss. Have you never heard of it?” Catherine asked.
“Wow. What in made up shit is name loss?”
“Like hair loss. But your name.” Catherine says.
“And how would that work?”
“You slowly lose letters in your name the more a nickname is used until you no longer have a name. You basically forget your name. It can be very deadly” Mallory says.
“Yeah obviously” Carci says
“Oh I see”
“And you don't lose the letters in order of first to last or last too first” Rose says
“Oh yeah your in the middle of class and a vowel drops from your name and your name is like Ava” Carci says while laughing
“Or the “v” just drops from your name ava and you become aa” catherine says
“Yes! That's even better. Or the “v” out of Eva '' Said Carci.
Catherine snorted
“Ea” she says
“Sm or am or sa are all good ones if your name is Sam” Rose says
“Oh poor three letter names” Carlie says
“Carc would and could be Car if the last two letters drops” Catherine says
“Oh God! And going around and i introduce myself like hello my name is Car my name used to be longer but it suffers from namer loss” Says Carci
“You lose the letter “C’ and then you become “Ar””
“Ah yes the pirate who suffers from name loss” Mallory says
“Oh my god yes!” Carci says
“Sanna” Terri says
“Or it's pronounced Sauna” Catherine says
“Hey guys this is my friend Sauna” Kira says
“Aw thanks for the introduction Kra” Savanna says
“Oh my god” Carci says laughing
Sue was holding her stomach
“Fuck I can breathe” She says laughing
“Dude try not being upside down it tends too help” Catherine says
Carci got back up right
“What would Joan be?”
“Literally anything jan, jon, on, an, oan, jo, ja, jn. Ect.” Carci says
“Oh yeah the girl over there? Yeah that oan. Yeah, I know weird name.”
