The sun was just rising over the horizon and the sky was a wonderful array of colours. There was pink, orange and blue, and even faint hints of purple. A calm sensation spreads through my body as I walk out to the car.
It was early in the morning as we pulled out in front of the school. I had wanted to get here before the regular time that Tamaki would call me, to prevent him from doing so. Realizing I was cutting it close, I made a beeline to the Vice Chairman's office.
With a deep breath, I knock on the door. I make sure the dress I created just for this meeting was neat. The small folded note in my hand felt like a ten-pound weight.
"Come in. Just give me a minute."
I step in and my eyes are attracted to the beautiful blonde in the crisp black suit. You could tell from the way Tamaki sits that he's gotten taller. His shoulders are broader. Although his back is to me, I can tell that he still leans with confidence.
That's when I realize something important; a phone pressed to his ear.
"Please pick up ...." he mumbled. As he finished dialling the number, I took in a sharp breath.
My phone began to beep in my pocket, and my cover was officially blown. The phone literally dropped out of Tamaki's hand. As he rose, his violet orbs were wide.
"K-Kasumi...?" fear laced his voice as he kept his back to me.
He was scared that I wasn't actually here. It could just be a crazy coincidence.
"Uh ... Tamaki-senpai ... hel-" The arms of the beautiful blonde man cut me off as they wrap around me.
My breathing was restricted as his arms tighten around me. He rests a hand on my head as my head rests on his chest.
You could hear the pain in his voice as he spoke, "You're here... you're actually here..."
"T-Tamaki..." my voice is very breathy. Well, actually, it is gasping for air.
His arms loosen, and I can finally breathe again. Yet for some unknown reason, his arms do not become absent around my body. "You've kept me waiting for so long... I had started to lose faith in you..."
His scent is still as I remember; a manly smell, like Old Spice, mixed with something sweet, like honey.
"I-I was coming home... I was always coming home. I just never knew when. Paris isn't home; Paris never felt like home. This..." -I gesture to the room around us- "This is home."
His eyes meet mine, and a question I was dreading slips from between his lips. "How long have you been home?"
My eyes fall to the floor and I say, "About two weeks..."
"Do the other boys know of your return?"
I nod. "Hikaru and Kaoru picked me up from the airport, I went to visit Mitsukuni and Takashi the following day, and two days after that I went to see Kyoya..."
Tamaki snorts out a laugh. "And how did that go?"
My vision becomes blurry. The outline of the blonde in front of me was all I had now. That's when I realized they were tears. "He told me he loves me."
A foolish grin crosses my face. Even though I most likely look like an idiot, I don't mind.
I blink away the tears and look at Tamaki, who is obviously taken aback by that statement.
Tamaki's teeth clench and the vein on his neck begins to throb. "H-He did what?! He is married man!-"
"-He's not going to be in four months..." My voice is a mere whisper as I tell him this.
"You love him as well," I could hear the heartbreak in Tamaki's voice, "don't you...?"
"Do you know why I came to see you last?"
He simply shakes his head.
"I came last because I was afraid. Before I came to face you, I wanted to get all of my loose-ends tied. I was far too scared to see you first, even before I knew you were in a relationship... a committed relationship..."
He stares up at me. "Who the hell told you I was in a committed relationship...?!"
"No one... I just heard that you and your girlfriend had been going out for over a year... that sounds serious to me..."
Tamaki pulls me into his arms once more. "It's not a serious relationship, well, it's not that serious. I mean, she's never even spent the night at my house... how serious can that possibly be?"
My cheeks burn as my mind flashes back to the night Mori stayed at my house with me. "Just because somebody spends the night with you, doesn't mean there's anything at all between the two... sometimes... well, sometimes it's strictly for moral support..."
Tamaki's eyes soften into a look of sadness. "Who..." Tamaki straightens himself out before continuing, "Who has stayed in the same bed as you?"
"Mori-senpai did once... after you and Kyoya-senpai had that big fight... As well as my best friend from high school, Clovis..."
"This Clovis fellow... he means a lot to you, does he not?"
"Of course he does! Tamaki-senpai, Clovis knows things about me that nobody else does." Tamaki twirls me, and before I know it, we're dancing. "Even more than Akahana and Chikako... Speaking of them, it seems I'm the only one out of all of my friends who hasn't seemed to find a companion in the past seven years. Well, except Hikaru, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time for that boy."
He sends me into a dip, and I feel his hot breath on my neck. As tingles spread through my body, a giggle escapes me, along with a squeal.
"T-Tamaki! Stop that!!" I manage to squeeze out those words between my giggles.
He begins chuckling himself and brings me out of the dip.
What I didn't notice was a figure standing in the doorway.
"Who is this, Tamaki?!" The woman with sleek caramel brown hair demanded in a sharp, enforcing tone.
I step away from Tamaki and towards the girl, offering her my hand, which she doesn't take. "Hello ma'am, I am Kasumi Roromiya. Tamaki is a dear childhood friend of mine; I simply came to see him after a long time."
"Yes, dear, we weren't exactly done reminiscing in the old times, as well. Miss Roromiya, may we continue this over coffee?" Tamaki questioned me, looking me directly in the eye.
"Sure thing, senpai," I pulled out my phone to make a reminder. "When are you free?"
"Right now." He picks up his jacket. As he passes his girlfriend, she puckers her lips for a kiss, but he simply pecks her cheek.
A wary coat covers my voice. "Are you sure your father won't mind?"
"Absolutely! And even if he does, he'll get over it. My dad loves you!"
And with that, the bubbly blonde was finally completely himself again, and we left his office.
