"Thirty days, don't waste it." He said handing me the paper to change my destiny for the next thirty days. Even though I wanted it to change once and for all, which is impossible, these thirty days sure feels like a heaven.

For the first time in my twenty years of life, I am going to live a normal life, away from pain, away from responsibilities and most of all away from the spirits who torture me every day – forcing me to fulfill my destiny.

I was seven when my step parents kicked me out as they were afraid that the monster lurking behind the kid will one day eat them alive. At that time, I didn't understand the reason why they left me in the market alone and vulnerable but now I knew why, the monster they spoke about was nobody but me.

With nowhere to go and nobody to guide, it was these unknown figures flying in the air took me home, trained me well, fed me and treated me like their family only to realize that I was nothing but their killing machine.

Not wanting to be someone's weapon, I ran away from them thinking that I could escape from their evil plans and live a normal life. But God, how wrong I can be. It was their sacrifices that gave me these powers, I was born because of their sacrifice, to full fill their wish, a destiny to full fill.

That's why when the most powerful warlock in the world handed me a deal, I took it in a go without even thinking about the consequences. What is there to lose when I have nothing in the first place.

A thirty-day transaction that makes both of us happy. Getting to live a life of human, with no powers, no spirits and no vampire strength. The offer was simple, lend my powers for thirty days to live a life of normalcy.

I don't know, how he did. All he did was made me sign the paper, drop my blood in it just like he did and burn it. Then like a magic, boom I no more could hear the minute sounds, move like a vampire in the blink of an eye and the constant murmurings of the spirits vanished.

He gave me a bag of ten gold coins and some human cash to enjoy my thirty days as a human.

Before I signed the agreement, there was a small part of me that wondered how it would feel to hear, see and walk this world through the eyes of human.

Now I know how it feels, it feels peaceful, the sounds of predators' breath, people's blood gushing through their veins, their heartbeat indicating their emotions, I could no longer hear them. I feel at peace without the too much information I get to see when I had my vampire strength and powers.

Now that I'm no more an anomality, I wanted to enjoy everything I wanted to before I go face my destiny. Kill the vampire king.

The very first thing I wanted to do was visit the market I used to visit as a kid with my mom. I was four when she died and the memories of her taking me to this market was the only memory that's been left of her, other than the locket she gave me.

"Hey lady, try this crystal out, it's beautiful just like you" A shopkeeper said, showing me the red crystal chain hanging on his hands.

The market looks the same like I remembered in my memory – busy, a place full of hustle. People were working hard to earn some money so that they can go back home with a huge grin on their face.

Home, the only thing I ever wished for throughout my whole life. All I wanted was a family, a person to go home to. But you don't get to dream high when you are born out of a curse.

Curse of agony – hundred people should sacrifice themselves willingly for a child to be born full of power, power to destroy the whole world, a child whose life goal is nothing but to kill.

A child who's practically the most feared monster, a child whose been hunted by the people out there, a child who's never given an option in the first place. A vampire child with a heartbeat.

"Hey, this anklet will look good on you. Will you buy it?" A tiny voice clutched my frock as she looked at me with her doe eyes.

I scrunched down to her level looking at her with a soft smile. "Are you selling this?" I asked looking at the anklet in her tiny hands.

It was made of pearls with fake rose connecting the joints, it was beautiful, it's my first time seeing an anklet in my whole life. When you are being hunted, you don't really get the freedom to lurk outside in peace.

Thanks to Elijah, the warlock, I could roam freely without being caught. The birth mark's gone when I turned human so people won't know who I am.

She giggled as she showed her father who's been selling similar anklets.

I couldn't say no to the little girl, she's working to buy a gift for her mother. I know it's wrong of me to be jealous of this little girl but she has something I don't. A family.

Tears threatened to form in my eyes as I realized I could never have a family. Sniffing my tears before it falls, I looked at the little girl who ran to her father asking the price. After nodding to his father's words, she came back to me with a huge grin.

She smiled head to toe handing over the anklets to me.

Shaking my head, I stood up thinking a genuine reply to refuse her. It physically hurts my heart to refuse her but I don't have enough money to spend on anklets. I have only ten gold coins, using two here on an anklet is something I couldn't afford.

I decided to tell her the truth, I know either way it'll break her heart. As soon I said those words, a sad frown appeared on my face looking at her face drop down.

"It's okay" she left trying to look for another customer.

Walking to the edge of her store, I sat on a bench observing the market as the little girl reminded me and my mom.

"Mom, can I get that?" I asked her looking at the puppy in the pet shop. It was a cute Miniature Schnauzer licking its paw inside the tiny cage.

She shook her head smiling at me. "I don't have enough money baby" she kissed my head as she started walking with me in her arms as I sniffed trying hard not to cry. I was three at that time. I didn't know how hard she was trying to protect me from the people out there.

"We can buy it once we save enough money"

I felt another tug in my skirt as I looked at the same little girl with a cute smile. She giggled keeping the anklet in my lap.

Before I could ask her who, she ran away from me back to her father.

When I looked around for the person, I was met with an amber colored eyes looking at me softly with a glint of hope as he stood there with a smile in his face.
