Chapter-14 The picnic

I'm taking my mate out on a picnic, like normal people do. It was Carter's idea. When I asked him what normal people do as a family, he suggested that they go out on picnics during their weekend. And I don't want to wait till the weekend to go.

'I have a thousand normal things to do,' Luna giggled.

He also told how they'll go out to some calm place with food and everything packed up, spend some time watching the stars talking with their loved ones. He gushed about how he and Samantha always go out like this whenever they can. I acted like I didn't listen to his gushing.

Hearing to him made me want to do the same with my mate. So, I brought us everything we need when we go out on a picnic. Food, blanket, pillows and whatnot. I brought everything they mentioned one need for a picnic with their family.

I also found a perfect picnic spot with a beautiful city view. I'm pretty excited to look at my mate's reaction. I reached her shop few minutes before her shift gets over. My mate was talking with her co worker who should be either Mason or Jeremy, the boss.

"I tried a new recipe, let me know how's it," the guy gave her a cupcake box.

"Sure Mason," she nodded.

So, this is Mason I see.

"Your boyfriend, sorry your just friend is here," Mason smirked.

No no no, you are right the first time, she is my mate and I am more than just her boyfriend. Okay maybe we haven't discussed or was there still, she is my mate and that explains it all.

I wonder what conversation they had for him to call me her boyfriend. I like this guy, he seems nice. But I don't like the boss.

I could tell that Luna is excited for my surprise, her face brightened when she saw me. But suddenly she frowned for a second when she realized that I'm all dressed up. I wanted to tell her that she'll look beautiful no matter what she wears but stopped it before she could kill me for being inappropriate.

Currently we are driving to our destination. Luna was enjoying the outside scenery deep in thought. She was beautiful, hell this girl here doesn't need any makeup or special effects to look beautiful. Just her hair neatly braided and her thick lashes are enough to make her look like an angel.

Looking at my mate I didn't look at the dear crossing the road. I stomped the break with full force making the car come into halt with force.

Luna.

That's the first thing crossed my mind. Is my mate all right?

I turned to look at my mate, her eyes were closed, her head was bleeding. She hasn't worn the seat belt properly. Why the heck did she take off the seatbelt? I made sure that she was wearing it while we left.

Shit.

"Luna, can you hear me? Hey?" I shook her trying to make her respond to me.

What the hell is wrong with me, why can't I do one thing properly.
